Club matches in different African Nations

Hi! I´m doing a project about Rugby evolution in Africa, but I have a question. Do you know why exactly, international matches between nations are more important and broadcasted rather than internal leagues matches, for example in Namibia, Zimbabwe, Morocco, etc.
Why rugby is more popular between nations but not inside each nation?
