England spinner Graeme Swann has lost out on the ICC player of the year as the award was picked up by multiple record-breaker Sachin Tendulkar.

But there was consolation for England fans as pace bowler Steven Finn won in the emerging player category.

Tendulkar, 37, has amassed nearly 14,000 runs for India in Test cricket.

Along with Tendulkar and Swann, 31, two batsmen - South Africa's Hashim Amla and India's Virender Sehwag - had been on the shortlist for the top prize.

The second game in history where 4 innings were played in one day! Crazy!

but this whole day has been crazy, first Malema got suspended, and then this...

The other being, I think, England Vs WI at Lords in 2000

For those who didn't know, at 11: 11 on the 11/ 11/ 11, South Africa needed 111 runs to win with one wicket gone.

That was the cosmological/ social shift predicted! T'was the downfall of the Aussies!

Virender Sehwag hits record one-day international score

I watched some of it and it was an amazing innings to watch.

It must have been a pretty incredible innings - I remember when Tendulker got his 200 he only just made it in time (I think it was in the 50th over). I see Sehwag was dismissed for 219 in the 47th over, so he must have got his 200 a number of overs before that!

In other cricket news: New Zealand play Australia in the second test today. If we manage to make it to day 5 this time it will be nice :(
