England 2024/25

Sounds too professional for my liking, I want there to be no broadcast deal until the day before when they announce it's going to be shown live on BBC but they've got no commentators so they just hire two random guys who know no players and they commentate in broken English while badly reading names off a sheet

#Binny
#neverforget
I've forgotten, who was it that called him Binny again?

Wonder where George's head is at. He's got his 100 caps, he's lost the captaincy and now missed out on the Lions to LCD. And he'll know that we really do need to start properly looking at the next generation, especially as Dan doesn't really look like the answer. Wonder if he might call time on his international career at some point before the Autumn.

LCD's Lions selection was the one that pleased me most. He's totally bonkers, I've always been a bit of a fan and it's a great story - drunk tank and French deal falling through and playing one armed through to Lions. He deserves a huge amount of credit and I think there's been some great man management from Sanderson too.

Pollock's Lions selection is a win-win. Normal rules don't apply to this guy and he might as well get some experience before captaining them in 2029 😀. If he gets some test time, what a story. But if he doesn't, holding some tackle bags and seeing how the best operate might be a bit of a reality check that he's not quite yet the mutt's nuts - and he looks like the kind of character who'll respond to adversity, not be cowed by it. I wouldn't say this about most emerging kids, but regardless of how it pans out I think he'll learn more from the Lions than playing with a weakened team in Argentina.

Do we think that having Blackett and McGuigan on the coaching staff for this tour will boost the chances of Bath & Sale players?

Specifically thinking of decisions like Obano vs Iyogun, Ewels vs Coles, Quirke vs Randall, Carpenter vs... well Carpenter vs De Glanville...

Hookers are an area we have to identify...so

Tuipolotu? Very young and inexperienced.....do you take him as a wild card / "apprentice" or leave him at home?

Ewells should be left at home now. Move on.
Obano...ahh hes a frustration. On form he'd be right up there but hes had injuries at such bad times. i wouldnt take him now...id use this tour as more of a look to the future in certain positions...and prop is one of them.

Quirke...another frustration...but im not a fan of Randall.
Carpenter v De Glanville....hhmmm

Having said all that...theres world cup ranking points available which are at a critical point i believe...so they'll be wanting to go there and get some good wins.

Nah way too soon, as much as I want us to capture him away from thieving Welsh or Scottish claws. George, Langdon, Blamire and Dan aren't a bad line up in the 2 shirt

Disagree, I'd take him as the 4th, over Blamire.

Worth giving these players the experience on Lions summer tours when the expectations are a little different. He's seriously talented and worth having in camp.

Best thing about Pollock's selection is how we all know the thin-skinned Aussie press is going to react to this walking personification of floppy-haired posh-schoolboy English-arrogance
If you could distill English arrogance into it's purest form, it still would only fill the tip of one little finger of David Campese.

Very fair, but LCD doesn't seem to have suffered!
lCD actually worked on his lineout and whilst he might have the odd iffy one generally is solid now.

As a massive fan of Blimares alround game (and a falcon)...his lineout actually causes us problems...it's never improved like LCDs has.

I wouldn't include Blamire this summer.

So we could see B Curry and George possible get added to the Lions Squad if T Curry and LCD get ruled out. Would see Brotheick have to dig further into the depth.

In fairness, those are probably two we can afford to lose from a depth POV.

George's leadership is useful but Langdon has deserved a shot for a while and Dan has always been impactful from the bench. There are some interesting uncapped options too like Oghre, Jibulu and Tuipolotu.

If we lose Ben Curry, Underhill is the obvious replacement with Pepper and Kenningham pushing hard for a spot behind him anyway.

What's the crack with Jubilu is he moving this summer or did he move last summer? To Sale isn't it?
