England 2024/25

Interview with Ma'asi-White on Rugbypass where he drops that he's in the training squad to be named tomorrow - probably weren't meant to publish it today :p

I mean sounds like a lot of players are in it
Is it a training squad or an alignment camp?

Sanderson said he had 8 players in it
Guessing
Rodd, AOF, Curry, Ford, Quirke, RMW, Roebuck, Carpenter

Tigers I'm hoping
Heyes, Steward, OHC, Radwan, Woodward, Ilione

tbf that's one area where Rassie has probably had an advantage over everyone else for the last 7 years, having regular alignment camps featuring everyone down to probably 6th 7th choice in each position which is why the saffas can take injuries to 5 or 6 first choice players and still be favourites - hopefully this is something similar going forward too

Carpenter
Gonna be interesting to see if it's Carpenter or Bamber, if it is 8

Lots of locks gonna be unavailable this weekend between no Saints, Bath or Itoje/Chessum
But then again 15 stocks gonna be low with no Saints/Bath or Smith/Daly (please no Hodge, please no Hodge, please no Hodge)

Whats your thoughts on Bamber? I think he worth a place for SB to have a look at him.

Yeah same, I posted maybe in here about him a few days ago, but definitely think he's worth a look, he's having a very strong end to the season

Yeah. As per @LeinsterMan (NotTigsMan)'s post. With previous call-ups and RMW included, the most likely 8 are: Rodd, AOF, Curry, Ford, Quirke, RMW, Roebuck and Carpenter

Bamber's more deserving than Quirke IMO. Even more so given we're going to be very light on locks.

I just do not get the Quirke stuff at all, maybe england coaches and media are smarter than I am. Or if people think I am of base let me know. Was his breakthrough spectacular? Yes. But that is a long time ago now, the guy has struggled with endless injuries and when fit has struggled to replicate that initial spark and cant get past gus warr.

He really just needs games and sometimes outside the limelight to get his career back on track. Could see him as a 9/wing cover on the bench, but only after he actualy shows it at club level.

I wonder if they'll look at our young 9 Joe Davis. Hes gonna be class and he has jet boosters on his boots!

No real surprises in there, I don't think - maybe Capstick? just because of the strength of depth at 7 (though a 7 who can cover lock probably helps). He was very very good on the weekend

Edit: Actually, bit surprised at IFW being there - no rugby in how long? Guess it's a good opportunity for the England physios to poke and prod him, though
