Oh thing i wonder if the the CC for Pollock is more than just rugby, yes he's skillfully and went on a lions tour where he did look good. But also maybe because of how much interest him being in the squad brings to England from casual fans.

But yes I'd rather give it to someone else(maybe a 12) and pick him anyway on form in the squad.
Also the RFU needs to been as at least trying to help the league grow and stave off threats. Doing something that might have pushed a rare breakthrough star away won't have looked good.

I'd agree his really is a momentum swinger and has proved that time and again, I know it's not many but he has had a few cards recently in his earlier career he consistently put in dominating momentum stopping hits with a pretty much flawless record discipline wise, I wonder if that, the concussions and being the most hotly contested position is why he misses out, he has nothing to prove and can be brought in for one off games where his USP stands out might also be others are more useful strengths across the board.
It's his injury record counting against him I reckon. No-one is exactly flush with enough cash to chuck £160k at someone that will likely get another knee to the temple in 3 months time

If WO couldn't find anything else to get him for, they'd just go for the tried and tested arrogant English pubic school boy.
To be fair whenever I've seen articles about English players on WOL they're quite kind. Even players like Marler and Farrell I've seen get good press on there. They've been raving about Pollock too, rightly so.

Yeah to be fair to them they are actually better now, it was the early 2010s when Wales had had some good years and England had that famous defeat that WOL and Welsh fans in general seemed to decide to really stick the knife into English rugby to a degree that got very tiresome very fast.

It's a little bit harder to do that when the team is in a bad position.

Maybe off the back of this we can dump them and go with a proper kit manufacturer instead
Doubt it. Seems like England gave up on caring about the quality of the stash when they left Canterbury and went to rubbish Umbro.

Would love to see Blackett join as attack coach but why would we move Wigglesworth to defence coach? Why not...get a defence coach? (Would love to see England cripple Tigers again and steal away Forshaw)

Let Wigglesworth go and take over as HC at Saracens or something, we can't keep pushing him into different roles hoping one will click because he's Borthwick's comfort blanket

Where's Joe El-Abd going or is it an assistant type gig.
They'll probably move him to kicking coach, keep the carousel going

Absolute, jokes, though:
Joe El-Abd is England's current defence coach and, should the RFU succeed in securing Blackett's services, he will be replaced in that role by Wigglesworth. El-Abd, the former Bristol flanker and university friend of Borthwick, will remain as part of England's coaching staff, however, occupying a more general strategic remit, with emphasis on the forwards. Kevin Sinfield will continue in his role as skills coach with Tom Harrison marshalling the scrum.
What a mess the England setup is

Bloody coaching hot potato. How can we hope to build consistency with chopping and changing in the coaching staff?

England should be one of the biggest gigs in international rugby, why are we so **** poor at leveraging this to just get in top quality talent?

Joe El-Abd says the carousel of coaching changes in Steve Borthwick's set-up stops with him as he takes charge of England defence.

Until the six nations, when Sinfield moves to scrum coach and they bring in Ben Youngs to run the lineout
