I expect Fiji to be a lot better than there were against us. England should still win but I wouldn’t be gobsmacked if Fiji are winning at HT.

I cannot see Fiji being that inaccurate 2 weeks in a row. England….well, they need to show something more multilayered & dynamic. Borthwick has to be on the edge of going, his pragmatism is choking England.
Make no odds about it, England have a squad that has huge potential with a very high ceiling of performance, not just in the short term either. I truly think the handbreak to it all is Borthwick & Wigglesworth. If the England hierarchy get the coaching ticket right, this squad could take off.

Calling it pragmatism is generous. Devoid of creativity would seem more apt.

I fully understand being frustrated (even angry) at players/coaches/the situation. But when it comes.to the game, I really don't understand wanting England to loose

It’s an odd feeling but for the good of England long term I’d lose every game if it made the RFU sign a decent coach.

Borthwick has made watching England boring and I now have incredibly low expectations.

We went through the same with Jones too.

Borthwick and his coaching set up aren’t right. Don’t think anyone’s disagreeing with that now.

But I still do wonder about the role of the senior players. We see precious little on field leadership from them and we’ve heard very little in the way of offield rumblings. Itoje, George, Genge, Ford, Curry etc are all players with enough experience and secure enough in their status to be able to properly challenge the coaches. Are they?

Yeah. At this point we aren't going to win anything of note and more likely to have more record defeats. There is very little positive for an England fan right now other than Wales being shitter and that could change at this rate. We have to wait until the RFU are willing to take action and that doesn't seem to be until after the world cup. I will continue to support England during the match, but I honestly don't mind them losing if it would force a change.

And maybe that’s what Tom Willis wasn’t that bothered about staying and losing for England.

In which case he can give me the lottery numbers. He announced he was off in October at which point we’d won 7 consecutively including our best 6N finish in years and would go on to win 4 more.

While fans acknowledged some of the wins weren’t against great opponents, I don’t think many really foresaw what was to come in the 6N either.

While never a SB fan, at one point I really did think he was learning and starting to get a grip, but that’s so 2025.

2 losses and he’s definitely gone. I can’t imagine they’ll sack him straight after a loss against Fiji. Would be interesting what they’d do if Fiji won but then England smashed Argentina the following week. I think they may give him the autumn games in that scenario but **** knows. You get the feeling it’s close, though.

Oh aye, I'm completely resigned to the fact that we're stuck with him until our '27 WC debacle concludes. Hopefully him, Sweeney and the "I can fail to coach anything" Wiggler will be hurled into the job centre after our glorious group stage exit.
