Bryce Lawrence is an awful referee. He was probably only at the World Cup to make sure New Zealand had at least one referee there.
If that was the case, they could have picked Chris Pollock to be the NZ referee.
Can't really say that I rate him but at the same time I can't really say that I think he isn't a good enough ref at test level. I can't remember him having a bad game.
I think the SA vs Samoa game in 2011 was an impossible game to ref. The guy that got carded for shoving Brussow got a bit hard done by but at the same time that was on the back of a ton of ****le Samao brought into the game; late and shoulder charges, late shoulder charges, pulling hair, tripping that sort of thing so I think it balances out. At the end of the day I think I personally prefer refs that are stricter and quite technical as opposed to refs who let things slide as a hundred small things that are let slide does add up to leaving a bitteIr taste in the mouth if you lose and even a little if you win as well.
All in all I for one have come to accept the ref as human, fallable and part of the game over the last while. I just wish the Bokke could get a bit more clever in dealing with the ref.

I think he's one of the top refs.
But he always seems to be on edge. I find that he overreacts a lot to minor scuffles, when he should just let it go and he tends to give players lectures as well when there is really no need for it.
Still want to know how did Bryce Lawrence deserve the top ref award in NZ, cause he helped take out SA or is there valid reasons

Yes.
Even though the award was actually announced after the RWC it was for the New Zealand referee of the year during the New Zealand rugby season and the competitions threin which encompass Super Rugby, the June Tours (even though there were none in 2011 due to RWC, there normally would be), the ITM Cup and the Tri-Nations. The RWC is not part of the NZ Season.
As to whether or not it was even deserved is another story. I for one think he has been dire for a few years.

Hmm, Dickinson was probably the worst. Lawrence I think is just plain incompetent but for some reason I don't hold it against him and dislike him less than Dickie and Walsh although I think Walsh certainly deserves some sort of prize for improvement.
Going from ****-poor to below average is not something that deserves an honorable mention.

More like going from average, to top 5 (or even top 3) in the world.
He has a high standard of reffing and still a good few years left in him.

I think Steve Walsh is one of the better international referees. I'd rate him ahead of Kaplan, Clancy, Owens and Poite, and well ahead of Jonker, Barnes, Pearson and Garces.
The only referees currently doing tests who I would rank ahead of Walsh would be Rolland and Joubert.

Rolland is crap and acts like a prick....................I loath to see any game when he is involved as he makes it about him!
