I tried the green cuisine vegan burgers. They were ok but may as well not call them burgers, they taste nothing like them. I like them in their own right though. Still think Quorn "chicken" burgers and other chicken things are the closest imitation to the real thing.

Haven't tried the vegan Richmond sausages but heard they're good - keep meaning to grab a pack but always forget

Given the quality of Richmond's meat sausages - I'm not remotely tempted

Started doing some cooking with my son. He's 9 and keen to learn. We cooked steak, homemade chips and salad last weekend. He wantedbto cook some taccos this weekend - keeping it simple with a pre-made seasoning and he wanted hard tacco shells.

Next week the plan is some homemade burgers. Spag Bol is on the list, as will a curry, stews, sunday dinner, some deserts etc.

I love cooking when I have time to do it propperly, so really gad he's also keen. Always a little nerve wracking when he's chopping with a big, sharp knife, but I'd like to teach him how to chop safely.

Kaow Mungai, flavoured with Siracha sauce and soup. Finished it off with a green milk tea for lunch. 😋

Is that green tea with milk? Yuck!

It should be forbidden to put milk in any tea other than builders/english breakfast/black :D I still haven't recovered from the time I was given Earl grey with milk. i can't stand Earl Grey (too floral) and the milk just increased the pain.

I ping Marmite in the microwave and use it as a quick, dirty marinade from time to time. As you say, plenty of umami. I prefer to use skinless cuts, the Marmite stops skin crisping up nicely and leaves you with bland chicken underneath.
Marmite is not the same as Vegemite. The former is great on toast, the latter just rank unless you’ve grown up with it in Down Under.

we can get british marmite (re branded as "our mate"), NZ marmite and Vegemite in AUS, everyone has a fav (or you like none of them), mine is the british marmite, but i dont know too many people that like one but think the others are inedible. I equate them to berries, you might prefer strawberries....but often you'll also like raspberries and blueberries....just not as much
