So I know stuff all about international hockey, but I've just been reading how Australia just won their 2nd World Cup in a row after hammering the Netherlands 6-1 in the final at home.
Judging by the previous finalists, it seems to be a sport that is strongest in mainland Europe, with the Netherlands and Germany often featuring in the final (though Pakistan has the most titles after dominating in the '70s).
Does anyone else know much about the game and where it's biggest?
Whilst I can see why the Germans and the Dutch are into it (basically soccer with sticks), it's a bit of a surprise seeing us kick butt so well.
Woot! Australia are World Cup Champs!
