hooker tips

I've been playing rugby for almost 3 years now. Almost exclusively at hooker (some wing forward and loosehead too)

I was just wondering if you guys know any tricks (for hookers) to make life easier. I play a very square game, so just as long as it is within the rules or just "bending" them I am cool with it.

I just know that my biggest problem are lineouts when the ball gets really sloppy due to rain and mud.

get a sub or coach to keep a towel on the sideline to keep the ball dry also unless you have a very good throw stay away from the back and maybe even lobbing on 4 in the **** weather

I'm a hooker aswell, and I'm pretty damn good at it, so i'll give you some advice.


For throwing, wipe the ball on the underarms of your jerseys cause it's always the driest part. Just be confident with your throw, and picture the throw in your head before you make the throw.

For eveything else....just work like **** is all I can say.
