How do you pronounce in English?

Say, what's the Manx accent like ? Tried to find stuff online but found nothing good. What is it, like, close to Irish or Welsh or English ?..

This has amused a few Manxies..........................

French is a Romance language ;)

Well there you go......English at A level (many, many years ago) and being reasonable intelligent yet never heard the expression "Romance Language"!!!

Just goes to show, you can always learn something new.......!!

First time I heard a Newfoundland accent I was profoundly confused.

Never heard the Tangier Island accent before... very odd.
It's fairly comfortably American, then smashes into full on Ed Grundy mode for a word or two.
It reminds me of an American version of that farmer with all the guns in Hot Fuzz.

Do not forget the French (and therefore Latin) influence following the Norman conquest which sees many, many words in English derived from French.....for instance, every word in English ending in "..ion" replicates the French word (other than three) where only the pronounciation is different!
The three that are different being vacation-vacances, translation-traduction and explantion-explication!!

Also words ending in English ending in -ic come from the words ending in -ique...viz politic-politique, economic=economique!

oh yeah yeah, it's well beyond counting. French is a building block of the English language. I don't want to start a conversation here, and I know historians and linguists have uncovered their own research and stats but I'd estimate the%age at about 30% of French words in English.

French is a Romance language ;)

ooooh I can feel you're on your desk waiting for a little attention there, don't worry bratsappendix, I can speak some ...Romance...to you if you fancy ;)

k so it is Northern, like I suspected. I know it's not the most eloquent accent, but I like it, there's a charm about it, it sounds very genuine and unpretentious and there's a certain musicality to it. That's close to the accent of that chick I spoke to, the mom on the vid does the "hache" thing when she says "can I take your h-order".
That's got to be the worst vines I've ever seen though, not that I know many. I've got a friend who's obsessed with the "I'm in me mom's cah-ahhhh", we say it's when mediocrity hits such a point that it becomes fascinating.
