I don't know about everyone else but welsh pundits and supporters seem to be coming over very cocky in my eyes, from my point of view wales have had a lot of luck this six nations due to a lot of decisions going their way e.g. England, Ireland and the Scotland game for that matter, a few days ago on this forum i heard a welsh fan raving about how all they have to do is turn up and they will win the grand slam now lemme stop you there you could have easily lost against Ireland and England but both went your way, i don't know i just think wales are not as good as their cracked up to be and France will show that in the final game in Cardiff.

Whats your view on this?

Yes they are getting a bit cocky, pundits saying they were going to Twickenham yesterday to humiliate England, and Johnathan Davies saying the Welsh back line were going to pulverize the English. I hope that Wales don't win the Grand Slam purely so they can realise that they are not as good as they might think. They've been getting lucky and playing well at the same time, and it is going to some of the pundits head. As well as Warren Gatland saying that the team is in for a grand slam instead of focusing on the next game.

Most of them are actually humble and just confident in their team- rightly so.

There are of course the odd nutter and pisshead who does and says the things you refer to, but that you have to specifically say 'a welsh fan' (sic) instead of 'the welsh fans' explains a lot itself.

Not much really. A few people getting carried away as is always the case with sport. Wales are a good team, and for once they are winning the tight games, the kinda games they were losing only a few months ago (SA, Aus etc.). We know we've got the players who can compete physically, both in the forwards and backs. We've got a high skill level again in both the forwards and backs. Our strength in depth in improving, although lacking in a few areas (with Priestland not playing well, 10 is one of those). Our scrum is up there with the best, as is our work at the breakdown. We're still struggling at the lineout, so that's an area to look at. Finally, this is a very young team that will only improve.

The team's been built up quite alot, but at the end of the day, if fans aren't allowed to get excited what's the point of sport of any of it? Some fans and pundits go over the top, but people have to try and ignore them. It's blatantly obvious that Toby-Faletau-Jones is just winding people up, something I don't like to see, but people have to ignore him and look at the rest of the Welsh posters on this board who have been pretty realistic. I know I built alot of the Welsh players up before the England game. Some Welsh players didn't perform (Roberts, Priestland, Cuthbert), whilst some England players performed better than I was expecting (Tuilagi for example), but I stated at the time that it was just a bit of fun to generate some conversation in a thread that had gone a little quiet mid week.

What this guy said..

also Pundits especially ex Welsh players and media are going to always say stuff they are clowns tbh, the media are the worlds worst at it, and yes there are the odd fan that says well do this well do that, we are a good team but there is a lot of improvement to be made by us aswell we are no where near the finished article,

And to the original post as for the lucky comment I feel thats a bit unfair as every team as a bit of luck not just Wales or is it bad luck is you lose to us and we are lucky just because we won the close games what if England or Ireland or Scotland won those games then would they of been lucky or just won because they were the better team and had no luck?

Just to clarify, I mean some certain pundits like Johnathan Davies are getting a bit arrogant. The team themselves are quite humble, and a good team.

Well going back to Ireland you have had luck against us on two occasions this six nations and last year, cant really speak for England or Scotland.

Well the poor decisions ended up being lucky breaks for Wales...

What the point I was making originally all teams get lucky all teams have had luck in this six nations not just Wales.

England should of had a yellow card yesterday with Robshaw never happened thats just one point that is fresh in my mind so all in all I think the luck factor levels out throughout the tournament for all teams.

There's always going to be some, although having Jonathan Davies as lead cheerleader doesn't help, and in my personal anecdotal experience I've met more from Wales than elsewhere.

I also think there are elements in the press who are overegging their case but again, happens everywhere.

I'm going to be totally honest here

Yes, I am confident, not cocky, confident in Wales. 2011-2012 has been a fantastic season for us. We've had an amazing World Cup run where we have discovered that our young, inexperienced players can cut it at international level and are being recognized as being top quality players. And now we are still riding that wave of momentum and are continuing to win and put good performances together in the 6N. I have practised sporting journalism so expect the stuff the media are coming out with and don't read that much in to it.

In all honesty, and this might ruffle a few feathers, all this "Wales are cocky" bullcrap is just that to make us feel like the villains for just enjoying our country's success which you lot don't like or are jealous of. So I will go into these last two games with confidence that we can win both not because I am cocky but I believe we can.

Kinda reminds me of Ireland in 2009...just sayin

Yes it was good because you beat us only, you lost to SA , AUS and France its alright beating us because u know our team a lot, it was a average world cup at best.

Some of the media hype has come from British press and not just Welsh press.

The one pundit that has gone on a limb about what people are complaining about is Jiffy. He's done the same thing that Austin Healy and Guscott tend to do.

Also the likes of TFJ on this board is not the general consensus amongst all of Wales and Welsh posters. Fairly frustrating when we are being labelled along with this cretin.

Still got to the Semi Finals ... just saying.

Are you joking me?

It was a good world cup because a) Its the furthest we have got since 87 (before I was born so I have no prior experience of supporting a team in a World Cup semi final) and b)we played well in every game to beat Ireland, Samoa and Fiji, to run South Africa closest than we ever have before, to lose by one point in the Semi final, I won't mention the ref.

Average? P**s off
