Jamie Heaslip Retires

Shame he had to retire because of injury.

Good luck to him in the next stage of his life.

An all time great, one of the best in the world, and Jamie Heaslip was excellent too. Heaslip never got the recognition he deserved in half this country but was an invaluable player who's style put the team ahead of his own highlight reel, extremely smart 8. An incredible player.

Irish rugby legend. His game changed a lot over the years but his intensity and level never did. Sad to see players of his stature not go out on their own terms, especially one who did everything right interns of lookibg afyer his body going into the later years. For every BO'D and Stringer there's an O'Connell or Heaslip.

Aye, Pascal Pape can eat a dick, embarrassment to the sport.

Was untouchable during the 09ish era, just a class above
Always a shame to see people forced out through injury, He seems to have many irons in many fires for post playing so wish him well with his future endeavours

It's a shame it come to this and it wasn't on his terms so to speak. I'm sure he will look back at his career and see it as a success as he should.

Absolutely incredible career, won everything possible for him apart from a WC. Always stepped up for the big occasions. Unbelievable that an ironman has had his career ended in such a way.

Ireland's best ever 8 and arguably most professional player ever.

All the best. Was always a battler on the field but What impressed me most was how he operated off field too. Have met him on many occasions and he's down to earth. Has learnt to operate his life also like his rugby career. Based alot of it on his knowledge and brain. He is well set up for life after rugby and deserves to have a great future in his next journey.

Just to add also.
Jamie really went to extreme to prove to Paul Kimmage he was faking injury after being dropped? The independent paper is a rag and well Munster IRFU Leinster and Ulster all have had major issues with them lately and hope Jamie gets an apology from that junkie clown too.

Also was freshener lately when they said he was timing it to play vs Saracens. As an Exclusive and all.

On Jamie again though forgot he had a child on the way too and well glad he was smart enough to know he's had good innings and his health matters to more than him now. As I said already he doesn't need rugby now as he is smart regards business ventures but also has the personality to suit speaking events. And not doubt a career that will fit well in a book.

Kimmage retweeted a tweet insulting him today... Dude is pathetic.

Has no class said it before. And will say it again. I for 1 think it was right call with POM coming in vs Eng that day but knew also the Heaslip faking was nowhere near true as Heaslip doesn't do that. And to think any pro guy would stay out that long to prove a journalist wrong, who I'm sure Heaslip couldn't care about, is ludicrous. KimmageKimmagess issue is he is a clown who thinks he's above people when it's the opposite he is below most. A junkie rider

A few Irish jounro's having digs at Heaslip because he blocked them. Guessing all independent writers?

Journalists love to dish out the criticism but can rarely take it.

Kimmage is a hateful twisted little man. Him and unrepentant his shriveled little ******** have no place talking about anything that doesn't occur on two wheels. Moral authority on every sport because athletes are bigger than they were in his day, so must be juiced. Buy the Indo at your own risk, it's a rag that would make your arse dirtier for wiping with it.
Biggest thing Heaslip is guilty of is being a partial owner of the terror that is Lovin Dublin.

Sports journalists outside rugby in Ireland hate rugby as a rule and regularly attack the only sports body in the country that has had continued international success. In contrast they love championing the amateur boxing association, who have done well in the last 10 years but go figure...

It seems to be nigh on every journalist, he always said that he doesn't watch or follow rugby outside of what he needs to as a player and I don't think he's ever expressed any interest in other European sports (he likes a couple Amercan sports) so he blocked them. He didn't want to see them and now they're bitter about it.
