Jason Robinson to come out of retirement

The starting line-ups and substitutes benches have now been confirmed for Steve Hanley's Testimonial game this Saturday 11th July at Heywood Road.

Kick-off for the match, which is the final event in the testimonial year to celebrate the ten year Sale career of Steve Hanley, will be 3PM.

Former England, British and Irish Lions and England World cup winner will come out of retirement for this match and will play at fullback.

The teams participating are the Hanley XV which will be captained by Steve Hanley himself. the opposition will be the Sale Legends XV, which will be captained by former Sale hooker and coach Steve Diamond.

All proceeds from the match will go to the Steve Hanley testimonial and Steve's chosen charities - Wooden Spoon and St. Anne's Hospice.
Tickets are available for a minimum donation of &pound;10 and can be purchased in advance by ringing the Sharks ticket office on 08444 994 994.

Supporters can also walk up and purchase tickets on the day, but to get the best seats please book in advance as the seating is almost all sold out.

The event will feature a full day of fun activity for the whole family with U7's and U8's tag rugby tournament taking place on the pitch before the game and there will be face painting and other activities for the children.

After the match, the Little B pub is holding the post-match reception.

Would have been nice to see Jason Robinson & Bryan Redpath in action again but don't think Supersport will have this game covered for us SA viewers as its just a Testimonial game... B)
 
Holy moly some names on there watching the 32-31 Wembley game last night.

Steve Hanley and Barry John Mather both played, shows how long ago it was.

Maybe Doc.Lekso could give Robinson some magic potion so that he can be 20 something again and play in the next RWC :p :lol: :D
 
Whats with all these arthritic old timers coming out of retirement, aren't their pensions paying enough?
