Justin Langer has become the third Australian player to anounce his retirement plans following the end of the Ashes. Langer joins Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath in their decisions to retire from Test Cricket.

Langer will continue to play for Somerset and will captain the Taunton outfit in the coming season, he does hope to play for 2 seasons but that has yet to be confirmed.

Was surprised he left it this late, I suppose that just leaves Hayden, would expect Gilly to continue for a while yet.

Gilly will continue, probably because the ACB is keeping him going under the realisation that they have nothing else?

Do any ozzies here know of any replacements, because the Brad Haddins of this world are cutting short.

One of the all-time great openers!

Langer epitomised everything was that was tough and uncompromising about the current Aussie cricket team... His determination will be missed.

The selectors now face a tough decision to choose between Jaques,Rogers or maybe Hussey to fill this vacant openers spot.I honestly cant decide

Great to hear that he will captain Somerset, may try to get to a couple of games in the cricket, especially the 20/20 seems an option

wonder will Smith be playing with them this season again, will certainly make the Twenty20 interesting.
