Lions selection>>>> Based on this 6 nations!

Don't know too much about forwards, although Richie Gray would have to be in there.

9:
10: Dan Parks
11: Ryan Jones
12: Shane Williams
13: Brian O' Driscoll
14: Chris Ashton
15: Chris Paterson

Can I have some of what your on?

I know this thread is based on this 6 Nations, but could we see a Gray/ Lawes second row? Or would it be too much of a risk (despite these players presence) to go with a line-out specialist?

As for my team, lets have a look see...

1. Toss a coin, even if it is between a scrumhalf and a regular
2. Mathew Rees
3. Dan Cole
4. Richie Gray
5. Allistair Kellock/ Alan Wyn Jones ( I have never taken a liking to Palmer, and not just because he is from down south)
6. Lydiate (don't know his first name, Daniel?)
7. Sam Warburton
8. John Barclay

9. Ben Youngs
10. Toby Flood
11. Tommy Bowe
12. Sean Lamont
13. Joe Ansbro (assuming O'Driscoll is on life support by then)
14. Chris Ashton
15. Ben Foden

For those of you who think I am biased, I am...

I don't have a clue who you think you're talking about...

34 tops. Still well able to tour. If Will Greenwood could do it...

If Lamont tours at 12, I shall weep.

Barclay at 8? That's an interesting call.

I would also weep if no other, natural, 12 stood up in time for 2013- But you cannae say that Lamont did not do a stirling job in the 6 Nations, albeit for a side with slightly lower aspirations

Likewise with 8, but I'd definitely have him (Barclay) somewhere in the 22

Drop Warburton, pick a real 8 - sorted!

I thought Lamont was ok. I must admit, I picked him as my 12 of the 6N... actually I might have written in a sack of cement instead, I forget. I think 12s are about, just our international coaches have no clue on how to get the best out of them.

Not sure about the forwards :s
9: Stringer
10: Flood/ Hook (no one that I can see has considered him as fly half)
11: Bowe
12: Roberts
13: BOD
14: Ashton (even though he's a c**t)
15:Bryne

Why do people think Ashton's a c-word?
Just because of the "Ash-splash"?
If we see/read interviews with him, and I know someone who's met him as well, he's a really nice guy
Christ....
People don't think Ben Cohen is a c**t and he did exactly the same thing!

I must admit I've gone off him. I don't really know why, just a natural progression I suppose, and this Ash-splash has probably got something to do with it....

What's not to love?

People dislike Ashton because he is a fella who winds the opposition up and well just acts a b*llox on the field at times. In saying that though Quinlan same here and people outside Munster dislike him. But I wouldn't ever try take it out of any player because it is part of why they are so good.
I think Ashton is a plonker etc but no matter what I call him I'll always say he is an excellent player.
Player like him - Quinny, Dallaglio, Hartley, Flannery, O'Gara, Sexton, Phillips and Ryan Jones are just a few off top of head. Add in Cian Healey too

No, people dislike O'Gara because he's an over-hyped, egotistical shithead who's made a career of taking credit for other players hard work while having a free ride in teams who've deserved better fly halfs. Plus he entirely and single handedly cost us the Lions series when he shouldn't have even gone in the first place.

Standing 10-15 yards off from a kicker while hes taking a penalty and mouthing off at the kicker?

Classy stuff.

Getting into a fight with O'Gara and NOT smacking him one

Classy stuff.

Ash Spash

Classy stuff.

His fellow players find it offensive. Cut it out and play the game.

Bullitt if that how you see him fair enough but I doubt you make a few Lions tours, Win a grand slam and 2 Heineken cups based on self publicity.
And there is countless DVDs of games that coaches have so EOS, D. Kidney, Ian McGeechan, Alan Gaffney, Clive Woodward and Warren Gatland as well as Tony McGahan must all be stupid coaches for selecting him and well don't use this line of there was nobody else available when there is.

Someone used that "Ash Splash" phrase on FGs terrace on Saturday.

We banished them.

Name one.

Fact of the matter is there was has been no better Irish outhalf over the last ten years , the taking credit for others hard work ? every ten does that, you don't criticize an outhalf for slotting a penalty or a dropgoal that his forwards have worked for its what they are their to do ,and just because the points are given to their name doesnt mean they are living solely off the work of others , merely doing whats expected of them.

I don't particularly like him but I think your argument was rather silly as there is no debating he is one of the best tactical kickers of the decade.
