I also think Deysel is better than Smit. Doesn't mean Smit is overrated. Just means Deysel is underrated.
John Smit is still a good player. Granted he is not the best hooker in the world, but when Gregan was captain of Aus, he was not the best scrum-half either. It's his presence that makes him important.
JP Pieterson is a wing. He scores tries. Regardless of who passes him the ball. He is currently top try scorer in the Super 14, has very VERY underrated speed, and is doing what a winger should, SCORING TRIES!
I will also pick Jean de Villiers against Steyn. But, Steyn is still a guy who can change the swing of any game he plays in. Wait just a little while longer. He is growing into a fantastic player.
Ettienne Botha for me was always just a Currie Cup hero. Someone like JP Nel. Never good enough to play Bok. Personally, Jacobs would not make my starting line up in a Bok squad either, but the fact is, he is playing the best rugby of his career.

Sorry but what suggests Steyn is a "fantastic player"? did you see the Reds match? a school boy could have done better, fair enough he has some skill and a big boot but he doesnt strike me as a team player at all and will never touch JDV as a player.

You can't judge a player from four games, let alone one, but Steyn just doesn't have the flair that the up and coming legends have, I'm not saying he's not good but he just doesn't have the kind of natural sense that people like Jonah Lomu, John Eales, David Campese, they all saw things that no one else did when they were playing and Steyn just doesn't capitalize on those chances for proof of that you just need to look at the Barbarians game where he made two drop goal attempts at inopportune times.

Anyways, I definitely don't agree with Giteau being there... yes... Australian commentators like to state that he's the best in the world... he's definitely up there... but not the best...

Mate what have you been smoking? How could you possibly say these people are over-rated? Some of these people would be listed in the World XV of ALL TIME. For example Richie McCaw has, as of late 2008 won almost 90% of the games he has played in (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/wallabies-rugby-...jectid=10531727). Yeah he's useless. And John Eales is only one of the greatest Wallaby Locks ever. Mate a massive WTF for you.
