Haha any publicity for our game is good publicity, even if it comes in the form of... this :P
I think the movie you're talking about is Nelson Mandela's views on a 1995 South Africa and Morgan Freeman plays Madiba whereas Matt Damon plays Francois Pienaar. It'll apparently be called "The Human Factor" (The Long Road to Freedom in the U.S.A.) and centres around the 1995 South African squad.

(I think. Please don't quote me :P )

Thats that dude off Don't Back Down aye. Anyway I reckon it's all good that they're using the Haka just gives it more exposure around the world. At least they're trying to show it in a positive aspect and not making Haka look like a bad thing.

I think it's very inspirational and this is probably what Highland Rugby want to show and it makes me proud to be a Maori knowing that something from my culture is going around the world and becoming world famous :). There's always gonna be haters but I'm just trying to look at all the positives.

I can't wait until it comes out even thou it'll be Hollywood as hell but at least it's a Rugby movie and it's been a long time coming for someone to even consider making a movie with Rugby in it.

lol he's doing the haka in his cell and the guard just slams the door on him

Look, the first time something is done, its usually terrible. I think we should give the people who came up with the movie a round of applause.[/b]
Lol, no. They've taken any basic sports movie storyline while merely changing the sport to rugby. What's there to applaud?
At least the other one has attempted to be good - Damon and Freeman both agreed to star in it, so it should be far better.

And no Jericho, if I can I will avoid this POS at all costs...

guys cut some slack, all movies arnt so realistic or they would be boring, if it was just a usa rugby player playing i doubt you would want to go watch it whilst if he is certain things like scotsman and a haka you might go "oh this looks interesting ill go view it"

have some empathy for the film.

What? It's copypasta film-making at it's finest. I mean, I don't want non-stop rugby action - I want a decent story that hasn't been used in every sports movie ever made...

You know what i think would rock? A big brother with the hardest rugby men! Imagine a house with Bakkies Botha, Lawrence Delaglio, Richie McCaw, Jerry Collins, etc etc etc... Then let them have a nice life together for 3 months.

But no shower hour. . .
