Rugby in Africa is a privately run, funded and organised trip of a life time leaving in Jan 2012. We are a project working for a charity called United through Sport.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and fun male or female, 23 yrs and older (younger applications will be considered) to join us on an overland trip form UK to Cape Town. We will be coaching/developing rugby in 15 different schools along the way whilst also delivering a health and social education programme. We will be visiting schools in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and SA whilst also driving through Europe, Egypt and Sudan.

The ideal candidate will be a good sports person, preferably with rugby coaching skills/experience, have 6 months away from work, be able to raise £6000, be a good team player and a desire to make a difference. The £6000 will cover food, accommodation, travel to Cape Town and team excursions. This is a nonprofit organisation and any additional money raised through sponsorship/funding will go to United Through Sport charity. (if you raise £5000, gift aid will raise that amount to £6000). Any added skills such as mechanics or medical skills would be a bonus

This is a very good initiative.Such kind of sports are rare in developing countries and this definitely entertrain the children over there. Volunteers willing to work abroad can make use of this opportunity and bring some joy in those childrens face.
