Lote is not overrated just used on the wing..he should be at outside centre where he can get the ball at pace and use his giant hand off.

Didn't we try somethign like that and he failed miserably? Besides, he should be able to put himself in a position to get the ball at pace, you don't see all the great wingers of the world complaining of such things. For example, Drew Mitchell during the World Cup campaign, why did he score so many tries while Lote scored....was it one or none?
<div class='quotemain'> Oh yes have to agree with Martin Johnson, was an inspirational captain but a **** rugby player. Johnny Wilkinson don't know how people can rate him as one of the best fly halves or in the caliber of someone like Dan Carter and Naas Botha.
I just don't see it. He was a great player. One of the things that made him a great captain.

I think it's a SH or non-english thing, he is lorded as this tremendous player for England but never really seemed that stunning of a player....

Exactly, compare John Eales and Martin Johnson. Johnson is talked up far greater than Eales (from my experience) yet Eales is probably the greatest ever lock in the history of the game who could also slot Bledisloe Cup winning kicks :rahh:
johnson is talked up more than Eales, and Eales may be the greatest lock ever. Johnson's leadership was probably more obvious, but not slotting kicks at goal doesn't make him an overated lock. Whether he was as good as Eales or not is irrelevant really. He was still a great player.

DouG hOwLeTT is the most underated player when he really is a much better player than that overated self absorbed player thart goes by the name of habana

With the amount of members with huge hard ons over Habana I don't think many people would agree with you...

Haven't we done this dance already?

Ok, controversial......Victor Matfield. Hailed as the best lock in the world but I just don't see it. Yes he does well in the lineout but so do a lot of other players. Also, the lineout is a group effort between the hooker, the locks and the lifters. No single player can really claim credit for its success. He is a fairly poor ball runner and doesn't seem to excel in defense or in the ruck. So what's his appeal?

cant believe all this talk of Martin Johnson being overrated. He and Eales are by far the greatest locks of all time.

What about Bruce Reihana,I see hes kicking ass in national div 1. What a waste of time at Premiership level.Perhaps Exeter Chiefs will want him next year .

Oh grow up. I was expressing an opinion for gods sake. Bruce Reihana is a decent player but in my view is overrated. In the last year he has improved because he is playing in a very poor league. I look forward to seeing if he can make the step up, but i doubt if he will.

Of course he's improved this year; He was injured for 9 months and virtually the whole season before. As it hapens, against Gloucester at Kingsholm.

Learn your facts about a player when you say "I ook forward to seeing if he can make the step up" about someone who's won Player of the Season (nominated 3 times), Players' Player of the Season & The Golden Boot over the last 4 years.

Jonny "the savior" Wilkinson. Basically taught an entire generation of school kids that rugby is all about kicking :wall: sigh

Oh dear, someones throwing a tantrum becasue the cup went wandering again (as did all sense obviously)

Well you're right, that is hugely controversial what you're saying, but only becasue its rubbish. Matfield has *****-slapped many an opposing lock (and indeed entire lineouts) in many different teams with some average hookers. If Matfield and Carter were in the same team, the need for a backline would vanish as the ball would be punted into the corner everytime only to be won by Matfield and driven over the line. This is actually how good he is
