This PRC is annual rugby tournament held respectively between Fiji, Samoa and Tonga, comprising of all three nations 'A' squads. With the addition of Argentina Pamaps XV and Junior Japan to the competition last year, and this year's newcomers Canada A. Pacific Rugby Cup 2015 will be a great opportunity for all local players, from these respective nations to stake a claim for Rugby World Cup.

Should be a fun and tough tournament for our domestic guys and I hope Canada can make more appearances in the future. The team left for Fiji on Thursday and has some talent and should provide some competitive games against Japan, Samoa and Pampas XV. Rugby Canada also said World Rugby was working on getting streams set up for this tournament so I hope that becomes a thing.

Nice to see there are some Edmonton based players, even if they are Druids players :)

Games will be officially streamed live on World Rugby Site.

Thanks, I'll try to catch some of these games

Recent results Canada thrash Junior Japan 69 - 17 great for newcomers Canada.
Tonga A lose out to Samoa A 28-30
Fiji Warriors are left to play Pamaps XV

Kyle Baillie plays for St Albert RFC not the Druids. Both he and Houlihan are quality players though. If only Gilmour would have been able to go then there could have been three ERU players.

Also I don't care if the Junior Japan was the Japanese U20 team. I hate the Brave Blossoms and I'll celebrate any Canadian win over a Japanese side. Even if it's 69-17 win that doesn't tell us much about the Canada side except they can beat up a bunch of kids. At the very least it was a decent run through for the guys to somewhat gel together as they have tough contests against Samoa 'A' and PAMPAS XV left.

Are yes, sorry, I didn't notice that in the brackets beside his name ... still, no Clansmen though :)

... still that's a pretty good representation from our province

It's alright, Rugby Canada has gotten clubs wrong in the past. I think they still had Chauncey O'Toole listed at Bridgend Ravens as late as last May.

Also I can't think of any Clansmen that would be in contention for a Canada spot any time soon. If Izzy stays here for a couple more years I think he could maybe challenge for a Wolf Pack spot. And ya Alberta had decent representation which is always nice. With all the changes Moffat wants to make in the province I think we'll see a solid increase over time.

Also I should be home for the game against Samoa 'A' so I'm really looking forward to that. Hopefully they actually get a working stream up this time. I tried to watch Samoa 'A' vs Tonga 'A' and Fiji Warriors vs PAMPAS XV and it was just unbearable.

Round 2 match-ups (14/03/15) Argentina Pampas XV vs Tonga A, Pampas will be looking for another win against Tonga A who fell short of win in round one. Canada will be looking to test themselves and look for a win against a confident Samoa who will for sure be looking not to give this result away to the newcomers. Fiji will be looking for redemption against a young Japanese side who themselves will be looking to prove a point after a heavy loss at the hands of Canada.

With the the tournament at it's final stage, Pampas Xv defend their ***le against Fiji Warriors. Canada A play Samoa A for third & fourth place, well Tonga A play Junior Japan.

So far the competition has proven a few things, first of all Argentine domestic rugby is in the right place. An that is no surprise, seeing that all the players a locally based proves the HIGH PERFORMANCE program is doing something right. Second to that Fiji a way ahead of Samoa and Tonga and this may not been seen on the big stage, but these competitions give us a telling fact it's sad, it all comes down to the infrastructure set in place, Fiji are doing well and are heading in the right direction. I can only account for Tonga were major works need to be done.
Special mention to Iosefo Bele Tabalala family who sadly passed away in his sleep while in camp with the Fiji Warriors. Rest in Peace
