Pakistan v New Zealand

NZ sent in to bat currently 130/2 and recovering from MacIntosh going first ball of the day. Guptill and Taylor both passed 50 and taking it slowly, with the odd boundary.

Stumps Day 1

NZ 276/6 (Guptill 60, Taylor 94, Asif 3/76)

Game about even after the first day, though NZ haven't much batting left and will need 350+ from here. Asif was bowling some pretty much non-playable balls which made up for a pretty shonky rest of the bowling line-up and some appalling fielding (how many chances were grassed!).

Im actually surprised they got over 400![/b]

New Zealand 404/8 (Vettori 99, McCullum 78)

Excellent stand by Dan and Mac to push the New Zealand score along. With the better part of the day washed out, who makes these decisions to play in Dunedin, the game is definitely there for NZ to win. Expecting an overnight declaration.

At least he's in good company :)

Pakistan currently 70 odd for 2, Bond yet to get a break through, Martin doing the damage.

What a great innings from Umar Akmal. Only 19 and he gets a test century on debut!

Was a great last day by NZ and old Dan V did bloody well!![/b]

Yep, the man really needed 12 months to adjust after losing Stephen Fleming as captain, but after that he has grown as a leader. Top strategies too.

As for Bond, this is the first time since his comeback that he's looked world class, rather than just very good and it's great to see again.

Bloody good test, enjoyed it alot.

Bond was awesome but big ups to O'Brian for soldiering on after his dislocation and capturing a wicket.

Vettori certainly has grown as a leader and doesn't seem to have let all the extra pressure from his new responsibilities faze him.

Can't wait to go to the Basin, then the Phoenix game, better be fine Hickey.

Yes totally agree it is finally good to see Bond back in the NZ Cricket scene he has certianly been missed it is amazing what one player can do to just lift a side!!

As For O'Brian man it looked so painful to watch them reset his finger the poor girl looked like she was having some trouble, Then to carry on!! Big ups to him!!

I think Pakistan really struggled with the weather they looked like for the first time in there lives they felt the cold!! would of been funny to see them with beanies on lol!!

They looked like we would if we'd just stepped into an igloo. They are going to be harder to beat in the next one, first up tour tests are always about adjusting to local conditions.

They should chuck Daniel Flynn though, unless he pulls his rather smelly finger out!

Well maybe we'll put on a few cloudy dull gusty days we are well known for...see how they handle that.
