PC Display resolution

I have a ATI Radeon 9800pro but display options available are only 800x600(max). Is there any way to raise the resolution to 1024x768? I know it is not my computer with the limitations as I can play Half Life 2 etc on 1244x68 at max details.

Help appreciated.

A forum search shows this topic has been discussed but no solution to the problem of adjusting to resolutions not included in the in game display options offered.

I am running the pc version 1024x768 with 4x anti-aliasing. You are clicking the right arrow next to the resolution 800x600??

The only thing I can think of is, Checking if you got the latest graphic card drivers & possibly downloading the latest version of direct x.

800x600 is the max resolution available in the gameplay options (no 1024x768 when clicking on the right arrow on the 800x600 option). I have 8x AA (smoothes jagged edges Woodie) and the game runs smoothly. Have the latest Direct X but i will check for the latest drivers. The game just looks very shiny at 800x600.

I'm sure that you can set the res to a max to 1024 * 768 on the pc version.

If you just go into the display options then it should give you the option to do it it there. Your Radeon 9800 will support this res, no probs !

I think anti liasing basically helps to smooth out the "rough edges" on curves and anlges on the graphics.

I've had the same problem with my Radeon 9600. I changed my drivers to Radeon Omega Drivers and now it works 1024x768. Plus, i installed Ati Tray Tools, which I use to force anti alising - whan I'd set it in the game, it hadn't work. Now everything is fine.

Generally speaking it seems that Radion cards won't let you go past 1024x768... I've got a Geforce 6800GT running with a gig of ram and a Athlon XP 3200+ and I run the game full settings with 1280x1024 resoultion, which looks stunning on an LCD screen (I've got a 19" LCD).

Update.
The new ATi Radeon drivers (released 9th March) do you job of allowing the selection of 1024x768 where previously only the 800x600 option was available. It does make a huge difference, especially with all settings to the max. My montior is too poor to go beyond this resolution.

I've also been stuck on 1024*768 as my max, but I think this can probably be increased if you change the settings in your ATI (or Nvidia) control panel.

Had same problem with PES4, there is a setting in there somewhere for the max display res. I think that the game will only display up to what it's set at, but guess that it's simply a matter of increasing this to allow you to increase the res in the game options up to a higher "maximum".

I'll try this when I get home tongiht. I think 1024*768 is a bit lame aswell, the game must be able to display higher than that. I'll let you know if it works. If it does I'll be landed, you could set the res to whatever your video card will support - with an X800 or GeForce 680o this could be as much as 1600 by 1200 or even more.

I increased my settings to 1600*1200 on PES4 - no frame rate problems and the player models, etc look wicked.

I stuck up anti liasing to *8 on Rugby, no probs apart from the odd glitch.

In summary, I think if you increase the max display setting res in your GRAPHICS CARD CONTROL PANEL you can thus allow a a higher max res setting option in the game .

As I said, I have not tried this, but will try it tonight.

With so many people/gamers having LCDs now you would think the game makers would have a 1280x1024 option.
Iam running a X800 XT PE and a 19in LCD set to desktop 1280x1024 and i cant get this option in game

I am in the same boat as others with ati cards, I have a 9600xt and can only go to 1024X768 . My desktop is at 1280X1024 and other games like pes4 can easily handle 1280X1024 I guess EA's famous qa/testing missed this one and no hope of a patch from EA.

Yeh, my idea didn't work, my display res on my x800xt was already set to 1280*1024, so that was not holding it back. I guess that the game simply won't play at a higher resolution, no matter what hardware you have.

Suggest we all e mail EA to express your dissapointment at this, it may prompt them into doing something about it, if they can.
