Premiership 2024/2025 - The Final

The reffing was pretty terrible, not sure why people think there was an bias just KD being **** as usual, having him for the final was terrible, Leicester looked to have got away with a fair bit of shenanigans at ruck time on both their last try's, the Bath disallowed one I think should have resulted in a Bath scrum as I think Leicester knocked on originally, the strip on the ball on Leicesters try line was pretty blatant and should have been punished properly. It's a shame that Cole got yellow carded, however it was clumsy and late, completely deserved he knew exactly what he was doing. All in all a pretty clunky final and I don't think either team played their best rugby of the season, it was edgy and close in most parts pretty good final as far as entertainment goes. Always satisfying when the league leader wins it.

Okay ngl I haven't really been all that on board with the Pepper hype but this game (and that try in particular) has really changed my mind.

Also considering Steward's whole thing is meant to be his aerial ability, Bath are doing pretty well against him in the aerial battle.
Only if the bomb is dropped within 2 metres of him.
Any further to run and he struggles to command the space

I'm sure Leicester & Saracen's complaints to the league will be promptly investigated so this can finally be cleared up.
To be fair, the winner undergoes a forensic investigation of their accounts post-Sarries; including whatsapp messages, players' tax returns etc etc.
Not to mention that claims that Bath are currently cheating the cap simply don't pass the sniff test (or at least, a sniff test with any logic or facts involved) - same goes for next year. The test will come for 2026/7 when the likes of Russell AND DuToit(?) AND Stuart AND Underhill AND Cokanasiga are all up for renewal.

We all know this, but some refuse to believe it, because "Bath are better than us" obviously means that the cap MUST be being breached, regardless of anything inconvenient like actual facts, knowledge or any form of deduction*. FTR, the same goes for "Bath are spending more than us" - given that most teams publicly say that they're not spending up to the cap this year.

If you go back before 2015, then yeah, fair enough, we probably did - but then, so did most clubs; back then it "was more of a guideline, than a rule" Then it tightened up in 2015, and again in 2020.

*eg, comparing the squad, man for man against other top teams' squads; or looking at 1 Lion and 5 regular internationals rather than listening to TNT's "Galacticos" narrative

Worth noting on this bit, that if a player is involved in accepting payments that the audit doesn't simply show, then (if my understanding is correct,) it means they'll also be committing tax fraud

What? People not knowing the laws of rugby?
If you foul the kicker, then the penalty is given from where the ball lands.
I don't know how long this has been the laws, but I'm pretty confident (not 100%) I learned it as a school boy in the 80s

Think you are misreading

The left is where the ball lands the right is where the kick was taken

AHH, okay then. I've only got text (why do I even have text? I dont usually see anything from twitter!).
My apologies for making an assumption, and making an arse of myself.

In that case, either Russell getting away with one, or ref getting a little lost on the pitch after having gone to the big screen. Both are things that happen more often than they should.

I don't think Bath are breaking the cap but if a sniff test is judging a side on the 23s they put out with zero thought beyond name value then I think they're the least passing-the-sniff-test in the league tbh

Who cares, though - they'll either be found out and punished (like Saracens), or found out and let off (like Tigers)

Yeah I doubt they are

Really they just managed to get very lucky with other prem clubs collapsing IMO. Smart management rather than cheating IMO

The highlights on YouTube from Premiership Rugby doesn't even show the incident. Rugby highlights are an utter shambles.

Out of interest where do central contracts money come into this, money paid by country unions, does that have to be taken into account in salary caps or is that exempted?
