[RWC19 Warm-Up] - England vs Ireland

Look, England played well and capitalized on a lot of Irish mistakes, but in my view it is usually never a good thing to win by such a big margin so close before a big tournament.
Yes it's not like we hammered Wales before the 2003 World Cup was it?

To be fair I agree to a point. Not sure what England are going to get from this win apart from showing off some training ground moves.

Our first 2 games in the WC are Tonga then USA, I doubt they'll suffer from over confidence. That's 2 big scoring games going in to the Argentina game. If the group was the other way round I would have to a point agreed.

Big score and made bigger. We didnt switch off we didnt get to complacent.

The fact manu got MOTM after that performance by itoje says alot about the whole team performance. The back row worked well.

The whole team did well and with the negative being youngs

Manu is so monotone...

Obviously a bit of a schellaking there today, England were obviously outstanding but Ireland will get better. In fact I’d imagine they will go far better against us just next week and push us all the way if not get the win... I’ll be there though so I’d take a big win like this if it’s going .

Edit. Forgot to add that I hope both Cian and Mako are good to go in time, not sure about the former but Mako ‘looked’ not too bad.

Good that England didn't let off the pressure too much but I don't know what can be taken from that aside from needing to replace Youngs with anyone at all when Ireland were particularly poor.

Not that I can blame them with the easiest pool and opening games, a sound coach will be looking to not peak too early. I don't think there will be some secret sauce trotted out but from an Irish perspective they have what are effectively warm up games during the World Cup itself leading into semis and beyond. You would back your players to come through those early ones.

More or less what I expected tbh. Reckon we missed at least 30 tackles?! Early season, lack of match fitness, honestly don't think a kneejerk reaction is required at all, Best, Stander and Aki could do with the shepherds hook though.

Right now Scotland are favorites.
Away with ye. There were some positives from that Scotland game but player for player you could count on the fingers of one hand the better Scottish player head to head against Ireland. Ireland may have peaked a little too early, but their squad, especially up front, would have too much for Scotland.
