[RWC19 Warm-Up] - Wales vs England

Well done Wales. Solid in D and gave England very little to work with. England still struggling with finding a plan B. May have been different if we had started with the A team rather than finished with it. We certainly looked a lot better when the starting players came on. Still don’t think it means much to us, other than learning how far the gap between our A and B players is.

Glad no serious injuries suffered by either side.

We don’t though, you see contact above the shoulders all the time and (rightly) nothing is done about it because it’s incidental. The laws are clearly there to prevent neck manipulation or strikes to the head, not someones forearm rubbing against a cheek.
Not rightly, those are the decisions that are wrong by the letter of the law.

Wales going no.1 off that is a joke, especially with the battering NZ doled out this morning

I assume because Wales beat a better ranked team? Not sure it’s fair to say a game that is basically a friendly to test squads in a WC should be on same level as a Rugby Championship game but there you go.

**** game. For England it still highlights how the struggle to adapt to a ref who isn't giving them the decisions. Whether he's right or wrong you have to be smarter.

I think Wales were slightly better overall, but considering the teams they might also be more disappointed.

Most teams tend to struggle when they are rightly of wrong being crucified by the ref, which I think wrongly was the case on many aspects today.

Wales did what they do best. Frustrate and strangle the life out of the opposition.
Lol they really didn’t though they pretty much drew an edgy **** game at home where the ref simply couldn’t be assed to apply basic law, then had the cheek to not allow England to quick tap multiple times after....

Meh, no teams watching this would be particularly terrified at the prospect of facing these teams imo.
We know that Wales can grind out home wins with good defence against indisciplined opposition, but I doubt they'll suffice in Tokyo. Without Anscombe and Williams it's all a bit predictable. Bigger MOTM is an unimaginative joke.

From England, I'm not too unhappy, against wales' best in Cardiff I expected a 7-10 margin. Though on the day we had opportunities to do better and in particular our discipline, ball protection, lineout and maul all looked poor.

Warburton saying the Biggar hit was a potential red card

Looks way way worse on that new angle, straight up shoulder to the head

Garland saying how Wales lost a back before the game and ended the game with 4 front rowers on the pitch, as if England didn't do the exact same

Realistically an incredibly controversial 7pt loss isn't bad.
It's Wales first choice grand slam winning team, at home and with the roof closed, against our mish mash side of 2nd choice players and lads out of position. We played crap and still came within touching distance of the world number ones

Which makes you absolutely and categorically wrong.
Your point seems to be that England should play to the whistle, whilst simultaneously castigating them for playing to the whistle.

the ref whistles for Wales to continue play. England were asleep and Biggar kicks to the other side and play continues. Where am I categorically wrong?
