S14 Warm-up: Stormers vs Saracens

Absolutely immense effort by Sarries.

Couldn't see the Amish Sinners get this close. They dissaprove of such technology as "airplanes" after all...

C'mon Sarries!

Can't believe JDV hasn't scored an intercept yet, maybe he's saving it for the last minute :P

Because he's useless at everything else?

Maybe its because Sarries like to keep it tight unless they're on the counter-attack ;)

Stormers 43 Saracens 33 (78 mins)

2mins to go, Stormers shouldn't loose it from here...

Have to say Sarries must have played well, couldn't really say seeing as I'm not actually watching the game lol

May have lost but absolutely chuffed to bits.

Two years ago, couldn't have even dreamed of being able to go down there at such short notice and compete so well. It may be slow and the going may be pondorous but Eddie Jones is making progress with Sarries!!! :D

Scrappy Stormers sink Sarries

Posted in Super 14 by JC

The Stormers blew hot and cold but were ultimately too good for Saracens in their 43-33 victory on Sunday.

Stormers - Tries: Sireli Naqelevuki (2), Gcobani Bobo, Schalk Brits, Luke Watson, Joe Pietersen. Conversions: Peter Grant (5). Penalty: Grant.
Saracens - Tries: Richard Haughton, Kameli Ratuvou, Wikus van Heerden. Conversions: Glen Jackson (3). Penalties: Jackson (4).

By Jon Cardinelli[/b]

Oh what the hell, we won...and without Schalk Burger :D

Congrats Prestwick on your team's effort, close but NO ciggar :bleh!:

Looks like Sarries have found their level then... A pre-season warmup act for a half-strength mid-table Super 14 side.

Hardly a mid table side, 5th (by points difference no less) is nothing to laugh at in the Super 14.

I am really impressed at what Saracens were able to do, it must have been one hell of a game too, I dream of scorelines like those.

I'm glad the website was useful too ;)

I was about to predict us getting a battering, and then I saw the scoreline... which isn't that bad at all.

You have to question the wisdom of this game in the midst of everyone moaning about fixture congestion.

But on the other hand, it's great to see SH and NH sides get at each other.

I'm still keen for someone to organise a Heineken Cup vs S14 winners' game to be played in May/ June. Would be quality.. I'm definitely looking forward to seening Quins RL vs Manly in a few weeks.

Ignore Mite, Stormers fans, he's just trying to make excuses for why Sarries are above the Sinners in the GP right now ;)

I definitely look forward to see if the Stormers will return the favour for our pre-season warm up with a full or near strength side. Would be sensational to see :D

Best of luck to the Stormers in this years S14 (beat the Sharks, because they're pants, especially that Mr Price, I hate him)

God I wish there was a match up of the best NH & SH sides in top form with a bit of rest. That would make my decade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just because a particular fan talks up his interception attributes doesn't mean that he's a one trick pony. He was probably the leading line breaker (on attack) in the world last year.
You know.. The kind of player BoD wishes he was.

I have to say he just about pips Nonu and Smith into the 13 shirt for my world XV.

He plays at inside centre and he should beat everyone in your world XV :bravo:

Just out of interest who would you have at 12?

Giteau. Because Carter's at 10.

Jackson appears to have played well, both Grant and his kicking seemed quite accurate.

Chiefs and Toulouse are establishing a connection, so we may see a few pre season games between them in the future

The way forward for Rugby in my opinion. It's sure to make things a bit more interesting.
