I'm predicting the whole competition

1. England (grand slam with our smallest win being 14 points) - 23 points (miss out on try bonus points against Ireland and France)
2. France (Beat all except England and Ireland) - 15 points
3. Ireland (lose to Scotland and England) - 14 points (Bonus point win against Italy and losing bonus point against Scotland)
4. Scotland (Beat Italy, Wales, Ireland) - 12 points
5. Italy (Lose to all except Wales) - 5 points (losing bonus point against Scotland)
6. Wales (6 losses) - 2 points from losing bonus points against Scotland and Italy

What’s with the France hype? They got their arse handed to them by NZ and SA
Clubs sides going reasonably well. A couple of world class players. Last years winners. England have beaten them once in France in something like 10 years.

England avoided SA last year so harder to gauge where they compare currently.

I will always back this French team. So much telent and I love watching them play.

England are looking good though, not as much talent across the board, but loads of depth still, and maybe building confidence after a impressive unbeaten run.

Ireland are on the wane imo. Injuries aren't helping their cause either. I think they might struggle this year.

Scotland - please refer to '25,' 24, '23,' 22.... They will play some good rugby, win a few and lose a few.

Italy are a good side, but I don't think they quite believe that themselves. So will be hoping for a couple of wins v Sco and Wal, maybe give Ire a scare too.

And Wales. I'm a generally positive person, and I do see some shoots. The regions are far more competitive across the board (if we ignore Scarlets early season form), even if results haven't always gone their way (looking at you Dragons). There's a spine of form players, but there's also some genuine issue positions and a lack of depth. Confidence is also low, and that can be difficult to overcome. Head says it's another whitewash with a small chance of nicking one against Italy. Heart says we will show a genuine upturn, start to be more competitive but lose to the top few, but maybe sneak 2 wins.

England
Ireland
Scotland

My predictions have been wrong (apart from Wales getting the wooden spoon)

But imagine the scenes if Wales win by over 50 and England lose by over 50
It would be very funny (obviously) but to be honest assuming we put in another good performance against Italy I think most people will be happy with where we are and our general trajectory regardless of whether we finish 5th or 6th.

Quick thoughts on the 6 teams now it’s all over.
France - Champions but I think they got worse as it went on, the Ireland performance was their best. Too reliant on individuals which will come back and bite them in the RWC. Looked a shambles defensively at the end.
Ireland - Very good tournament. Farrell has injected a greater freshness to the side - think they’ve gone a long way to solving the 10 issue as well. Saved their best game until last.
Scotland - Still can’t breach that 3 wins barrier. Two Murrayfield performances brilliant but unconvincing on their travels. Unable to match Ireland when it counted, again.
Italy - A very poor first half today but overall a great tournament. Managed to win two games despite a horrid injury list. Win over England won’t be forgotten. Tommaso Menoncello is also very good at rugby. Next year if they’re at full-strength watch out. I think that 3 win season is coming soon.
England - A complete disaster. Performance in Paris was very small consolation. Pulled apart by Scotland and Ireland and totally imploded against Italy. 1/5 is a frankly pathetic return - Borthwick out.
Wales - Finally some green shoots. Got better game by game and deserved the win today. Nowhere near being a top 6 side but have gone past the stage of being outplayed by Japan I think. @Welsh Exile might be giddily predicting a Slam next year if this improvement continues!.
