Porthen becomes the youngest prop to debut for the Springboks in the modern era at 21, and the youngest prop debut for the Springboks since Ollie Le Roux in 1994.

Way more empty seats than I expected though I suppose the kind of person who likes rugby union enough to go to a match knows Japan aren't that good

Three rugby matches happening in the city at once with England playing one (plus 6 premier league/Championship games being on in the city) means there weren’t going to be many neutrals. Wembley also far away from the SW London where most Saffas are in London, plus most had already just attended the SA vs Arg Game a month ago and these tickets were not cheap… and it was against Japan, everyone knew the outcome.

Would’ve done a bit better if it was on Friday or Sunday when it had less competition and could pull neutrals, just some really poor scheduling decision making all round.
