The BIG Rugby 2006 Modification Project

We have some talented people around here and I'm sure they will be willing to do as they did last year and bring out some phat mods. I'll try and update this page as we get some coming through.

Let's start by getting numbers on who wants what. I'd like to see a new player editior and a few things like official field markings for tournaments, correct jerseys for all teams and television broadcasters in place of the EA logo.

Lazy chestnut did it I think, but I could be wrong. I did the new Scotland kit tonight (dumb EA got the collar, design and colour of shorts wrong) and I'm going to do the numbers tomorrow, aswell as a couple of the Celtic League teams I think.

Lazy Chesnut, any chnace when you make your player editor for EA06 you can also make a team stat editor as well? I'm not sure if this is possible but it would be great!! thnx

I'm just finnishing the Scotland home kit just now cause EA got it really wrong. I'll make my own thread and post in a bit. Also, I'll try the Edinburgh kits later.

... is the 2005 editor still downloadable from anyone/any site to try it out?

(how to you convert EA's .ssh format to .fsh for viewing in editors?)

Right now, I don't think the .ssh file format can be converted to .fsh
EA create textures and store them in different way depending of the target ( PC, XBOX, PS2). Doing this, EA is sure that the transfer texture to memory is optimal.
.fsh is used for PC or XBOX and texture files are compressed using the DXTC 1,2,3,5.
.ssh is used for the PS2 and are compressed using an unknown schema.
I'm trying to hack the schema to open the modification project to PS2 owners, but it's a bit tricky.
BTW, If you guys can send me a .ssh texture file and the correspondant .fsh file, it could help a lot

I've been through all the xml files and have labelled their purpose, aswell as .rsg and .list files for the PS2... making some changes does not seem too difficult, but the images/textures modifications are what will have an immediate impact on the game

Unfortunally, I don't have the PC version nor the PS2.
Perhaps if you post an .ssh , someone with the PC version could send the correspondant .fsh one.

i am a river to my people.

while all you lot were busy whinging away in pant wetting anticipation, i have been gathering a vast collection of images logos etc and now have a fairly decent collection of files.

i am yet to decide, if im going to embark on another 2 week slog through all the teams again as i didnt even play on the pc version last year, and have no intention of buying this time around.

however, as a real life grown up graphic broadcast designer and producer nothing gives me more of a horn than craeting douzens of tiny shirt designs so we will see.

if i dont make them again i do have a vast collection of vector files (logos etc) for people to use when making their own. i will try and post them on my own site:
