I don't think the Bok's were upset at all with the way they have been playing lately. Thought the ref did alright but he did miss a few things. It's called being human. As for the foward pass at the end that led to the McCaw try, the AB's were gonna score eventually. Bok's were out on their feet and the ABs knew it so I don't see that as the game defining moment. Refeering this tri-nations has been over ok considering the new rule changes. The balls in play alot more and is alot faster so the ref's bound to miss some things. Let's just admit the AB's were too good, the rules suit their play and that the Bok's whilst aggressive and passionate still rely too heavily on their kicking game and are too unfit.

Actually the ref did not miss that pass , the touch judge did. While we can argue that some decision went against us it was the same for teh ABS. Yes the ref missed a couple of things but thats life , for once we cannot complain about the ref. We were outplayed in the last quarter when our fitness came into question. The abs sensed this and were patient. I for one said last week that we are fortunate to see living legends plays this game and in Mccaw they dont come any bigger. To my NZ fellow supporters , congrats once again , please accept my apologies for any unwarranted whining from SA supporters , we all know what transpired and who deserved that win.

Now just to add (seeing that there always is something to add lol) the citing commission seems a bit out of it this season , I wonder how come your props shoulder on Juan De Joghn went unpunished ? Certainly it was exactly the same if not worse that what Bakkies did against the Lions and then Mccaw's slap on Burger after Burger stupidly threw the ball away ?

Now note that I dont agree that either warrants a citing or warning , just interesting that no -one says anything about it as its the same if not worse transgressions that the Boks did to which there was many one eyed ABS supporters calling for Bans on the transgressors !! Its a tough game and I accept that little off the ball incidents happen , Think Danie Roussouw little jab on Mccaw ? How's that any worse than say Mccaw slap on Burger ?

But Jaa , next year we will turn around these results again , pity the ABS peaked so early once again :)

it wasnt stupid of burger to throw the ball away,it was springbok ball, but i dont think roussow's incident looked much different to what mccaw did but i guess i cant compare because we had different refs, mind you he was close to his eyes so burger could have done some soccer acting or even a mealamu by going up to a ref with some supposed teeth marks, then he could of got him binned and then old paddy obrien would have went to the abs hotel room to give graham henry a blowjob and say sorry

WOOH!!! LOL..this proves hatred for the All Blacks lives here at TRF.

Hang on Sparty....

You have just said not to worry about all the whinging from SA fans, BUT on page 3 you are saying how SA don't get referreed the same way etc, (in short; intimating that International Rugby is not a level playing field and the Boks are essentially having to play "uphill" against the other teams).

Which is it? because from reading those earlier posts, they smack very much of whinging about a supposed conspiracy theory against SA. Which, lets face it; is just madness.

The referees so far in Rugby Union and League have come under some scrutiny this year so far. Obviously we've discussed it, argued it here on TRF the tri-nations reffs in particular. We have to remember they are human and just like a player knocking the ball on they make mistakes. However in the ITM cup there has been some really bad ones for example...a player took a ball out, the touchie signals hes out late, he then throws it in and the reff overides the touchies flag saying 'just carry on' and so they do. Another one was last week was by a lock who lost the ball before the line and he did the facepalm but then the reff comes and awards the try. In the NRL a very experienced reff who was once regarded the best in the bizzo was sacked after he awarded a try to Mark Gasnier of the St.George Dragons a try that was clearly a knock on. Poor reffs they do their best but they will NEVER EVER be good enough for everyone.

He didn't know that, and if he did, why would he throw it away, instead of trying to hold onto it.

Throwing it away tells me that he either thought it was All Black ball, or he didn't know and was throwing it away in case.

Besides, it doesn't matter whether it was Bok or AB ball.

10.2 UNFAIR PLAY
(b) Time-wasting. A player must not intentionally waste time.

Sanction: Free Kick

Throwing the ball away still wastes time.

Hiya Fluke , I agreed that the reffing in previous games as well as the citing was one sided but in the last game the ref was at least consistent albeit a little poor. The ABS players coming in offside was dealt with similar the Boks players , sure he missed some things but he did it both ways so we cannot complain. I find it interesting that the forward pass was missed by our favorite ref Mr Rolland.

It was not whining instead it was concern from a genuine frustrated SA fan. You just have to watch the highlights of the transgressions to see how the ABS players blatantly kill the ball or take out players. There was for instance one game that Mccaw was warned 5 times in the rick and maul situation which is absurd. So jaa , call it whining from our coach or whatever you like , it worked cos the Ref was a lot stricter and fair in the last game.

True , I thought he would have penalty for that , The Aussie winger Mitchell got carded for something much less obvious that that.Still dont justify the smack or some of you guys loved to say the attack in the facial area. According to some Mccaw like Burger is now a thug and dirty player and should be banned for at least 4 weeks ?

Burger, like Mccaw this w\end only did this once last year when he got banned and labbelled a thug by many.

Also whats your thoughts on the shoulder charge of Franks on Juan De Jongh ? It was against a man whose arms were tied and in the head region ? The ref saw it and penalised Franks so it seems that he agreed that Franks Transgressed , I am surprised at -

Firsly he was not cited because he was not carded in the game and according to the the offense must be deemed a red card offence for citing to take place and if Jean De Villers citing is the yard stick then this certainly qualifies

Secodnly the silence of the citing commisioners here at TRF who so eagerly pointed out Bok transgression week in and out. Do you still feel that the reffing and citings are fair ? This is yet another example that frustrates us many South Africans.

This passage is entirely inappropriate to this forum.

Fully Agree , Hopefully it gets moderated.

Burger throwing the ball away was a nothing I think it was Springbok ball anyway. Would've been sad to see Burger carded for something like that he had a good game Burger, good to see him show his strength in one of his tries.

what i was trying to get at was the fact mr obrien goes and personally says sorry to the all blacks when he feels their hard done by,but i didnt see him do it over the roussow incident, which to me was identical to the mcaw attacking burgers eyes[ok i admit that might be exaggerating a little bit]
but i still have a gripe with grewcock getting banned for a supposed bite on mealamu's fingers when the only proof was a little teeth mark on his finger, i mean if it was an intentional bite it would have tore those chubby fingers in half

Yes I feel he was SA's player of the tournament , actually he should get the SA rugby player of the year award this year if he contunies his great form.

Smartcooky and co , your silence on the citing issues are deafening

Point taken much better without the inappropriateness :)

That is quite possibly the stupidest thing i have read on this forum.

Interesting Paddy O'briens take on the forward pass prior to Ritchies try

Hang on.... isn't Paddy O'Brien supposed to be biased towards New Zealand. Why would he then object to a forward pass being missed leading to an All Black try?

Oh, so we are defending the indefensible.

Would this be the same Danny Grewcock who has quite probably the worst disciplinary record of any rugby player in the modern era.... 18 yellow cards and 4 red cards for a range of vicious offenses that include stamping on players heads and arms, biting, kicking and punching.

1998: five-week ban for kicking a player in a test at Carisbrook
2002: five week ban for stamping on halfback Kyren Bracken
2003: two-week ban for punching Lawrence Dallaglio
2004: six-week ban after for reckless use of the boot on Dan Carter
2005: nine week ban suspension for biting
2007: one week ban for stamping
2007: twenty week ban for punching (that long due to previous disciplinary record).
2007: six week ban for punching in the ECC final
2010:seven week ban for stamping on the forearm of Stephen Ferris

A total of 61 weeks suspended in a 12 year professional career; that's more that a whole year banned.

Grewcock is a loose cannon who gives Rugby Union a bad name. He ought to have been outed from Rugby permanently.

No mention of his favorite ref Mr Rollands miss on the pass ? No apology to SA for that ? No dismissing Rolland , instead Rolland is reffing the SA - Aus game

Rolland was not the touch judge that missed that. Simon McDowell missed it.

the fact is there was no evidence that he bit mealamu,he only got suspended on mealamus word the same mealamu who couldnt recall dropping o'driscoll on his head, all obrien is saying that the refs need help from technology he wasnt criticizing the ref or offering an apology to the boks and nor should he for a forward pass, he should apologise though for the fact mcaw wasnt sin binned for killing the ball when a certain try was about to be scored or for his attack on burgers eye

You said yourself there were teeth marks. And if we are dredging up history to testify to a players character then this is taken from Grewcocks own wikipedia page:

He earned a five-week ban for a kicking offence after being sent off in 1998 at Carisbrook and six years later he copped a six-week suspension after being found guilty of reckless use of his boot on Daniel Carter. When he returned in 2005 with the Lions, Grewcock was banned for two months for biting Keven Mealamu's finger, which had somehow found its way into Danny's mouth. The suggestion that Mealamu had been in the process of hooking Grewcock's mouth was not proven, but the length of suspension given to Danny was way below that usually given to a player found guilty of biting.
At home in 2002 he was outed for five weeks for stamping on halfback Kyran Bracken in a club game, then a year later had a two-week spell for punching Lawrence Dallaglio.
There was a one-week stand down for stamping in 2007 and later that year he was banned for several months for punching.
In 2007 Danny was banned for 6 weeks for punching Clermont Auvergne's Thibault Privat in the European Challenge Cup final.[2]
On 23 January 2010 Danny was shown a straight red for stamping on the forearm of Ulster's Stephen Ferris in a Heineken Cup game while playing for Bath. Ulster went on to win the game 28-10.[3]

But no, foul play from Danny Grewcock? nah. Kevin Mealamu must have bit himself that makes a bit more sense..

no he was bitten but it was most likely accidental cos mealamu had the tiniest of a tooth mark on his finger that he showed the ref and it was mealamu who put his finger in his mouth accidentally, i dont need wikipedia for my facts ther all stored in my brain

Im not even going to bother.

Along with correct spelling, gramar and punctuation?

Thought not.
