Snoop JHW could do well and benefit from time in West.
Agree on Ross and well if we can get Borlase on form next season it'll be 2 good options. Like Borlase is burnt out so he needs rest before been judged.
We need a quality centre and the bit of youth injected and I'll be happy

"Bath confirm interest in Carl Fearns"

Lose Fearns, gain Buckley

Makes perfect sense =/

No offence, but if Bath was willing to play him at 8 and Sale aren't... I hope he moves.

On the Connacht front, have heard that they are sniffing around Chris Cochrane (another winger) and maybe Alan Whitten (th prop). Also heard they were offered two Munster back-rowers, despite one extending his contract recently, by the IRFU...

... and, to my great merriment, their two Welsh poaches aren't eligble after all, as the U20s are Wales' selected 2nd senior side and therefore they'd bound! Oh how they laughed. Expect that one to get challenged though...

That's only really because Seymour is out injured atm, and Fearns is the best 7 we've got available
Would hate to see him move on and then hit his peak elsewhere *coughFODENcoughDAYcough*

Wasn't he playing 6 before Seymour's injury?

I agree, it would be a massive gutter, he's the sort of player Sale need to keep... but England need players like him playing at 8 urgently.

Its a shame though. All the Northern clubs produce some great talent, but so very rarely see the best of it. A XV of England players produced by Sale/Newcastle/Leeds now playing elsewhere would look fairly good.

MM, can only repeat what I heard.

He's like Sean O'Brien, normally an 8/6 but can do the job at 7 too. The only specialised 7 we have on the books is Seymour, so Fearns was second choice

Sale are apparently going for the overhaul, but I would've thought it'd mean shifting some of the older journey men, not ditching the talent who have come through the academy

Didn't see this before I posted...
How? The U20 is Wales second side, like the Wolfhound and Saxons are to Ireland and England. If they challenge Wales U20's, then it would set a precedent in making all 'A' Sides non-nationality locking.

Regarding Bearman, I am disappointed considering how we stayed with him through two seasons of injuries. I hope he enjoys the parties... allegedly...

If the IRB (belatedly) agree that calling an U-20 side a senior side is ridiculous (which it is) then it only challenges naming U20 sides being named as a second senior side (which they shouldn't be) therefore keeping the likes of the Saxons as they are, as they are actually a senior side.

I don't think they'll succeed, but Connacht would be silly not to give it a go.

Ulster have confirmed the long standing rumour that Ryan Caldwell is joining Bath. They've signed Lewis Stevenson to replace him.

It's a good deal for Ulster. Caldwell never lived up to his talent and needs a new challenge. Stevenson has played a lot of rugby in the Premiership and will add to their depth behind Dan Tuohy and Johann Muller at second row.

Apparently Stevenson was considered the better lock at Exeter out of him and Tuohy. Fingers crossed he raises his game again.

I am incredibly excited about just how stupid Bath's second row is going to be.

CONNACHT have been linked with former Ireland U20 star Stewart Maguire following the loss of tight-head Jamie Hagan.

Maguire, a 6'5" tight-head prop is a member of Leinster's Academy and, with Hagan returning to his native province next season, Connacht sources indicate that the 20-year-old is being lined up as a potential front-row capture.

Good signing for Connacht if true. He's at the same stage now that Jamie Hagan was at two years ago- talented but his pathway is blocked by better players.
