Rumours that we're after Johnny Hill - presumably means the rumours of Lood staying are false (or he wants more than we can afford)

Mixed feelings - his international career (more relevant than club, imo, as Exeters pack is essentially one unit and players look completely different not in it) has been really poor, but then he had a really good autumn

Though we will be looking for a lock with JP leavin, Philips likely retiring (or at least not be re-signed) and Lood potentially off

Lose those three, sign Hill, promote Birch from the academy to Philips squad-player role
Move Manu into the empty marquee spot (he qualifies next season)

Faf, I imagine - does it drop from 2 to 1 next season?
There's still strong rumours he's off to Japan at the end of the season
Cliff out of contract too so think he might retire (doing well with his business away from the sport)
So lose those two, bring in a reasonable club level guy to cover for Raffis international time away and bring through Warr and Thomas (who Sanderson says looks as promising as Raffi did at his age)

If we've got another year of 2 marquees I'd either put TC as it, or bring in a fullback

Rumours that Rohan is leaving and we're looking at Jonathan Joseph for a replacement

Would be sad to see Rohan go, and would try very hard to keep him, but JJ would be a good target if he is off
Been impressed with his form when I've seen him recently, despite Bath's general mire

If it's a choice between the two, I'd take JJ every day of the week. Rohan has days where he's unplayable - just not that many of them.

Come to think of it, JJ would be great signing for someone. He's only 30 so still has a good couple of years left in him and is a test quality centre that almost certainly won't be called-up for England. I could see him ripping it up at somewhere like Saints

JJ would be a good signing for Sale but IMO they would be better served with having him as a partner for RJVR than Manu.

JJ is too good defensively for us, we like to keep the revolving door style defence these days.

I'd be surprised if we went for Hill and/or got him. Second row really doesn't feel like a position we need to strengthen in.

Launchbury/Fifita/Stooke as a front line with Gaskell/Cardall/Vukasinovic feels like more than enough.

We really need Centres/Back 3 at the moment especially if Fekitoa heads out and Jimmy G getting on (suprising right?). Also we have a fair few questions over performances from Kilbirige/Watson/Minozzi. I'd keep Kilbrigie and maybe Watson depending on value of deals.

I don't actually see space for him anywhere - wasps have watson and Kib, irish have OLH and Loader, Exeter have a few decent wings, Bath maybe?, Gloucester are already juggling LZH, Thorley and May

If that's the case then really his only options are Saints, Tigers or Wasps, everyone else is further away

We've not heard anything, i'm hoping it's just a friend, we really need to tie him into a contract as he's one of those we want to build our team around. Hopefully Dimes will be able to retain him
