I don't think so, but maybe - we didn't replace JLdP who was as much a lock as a 6/8, but realistically CCS would've been a DDP replacement who is an out and out 8
As it stands next season our 8 depth is Dugdale (a 7), T.Curry (a 7) and Logan (academy) so hopefully we're looking to spend big there

I still think the majority of Sanderson talk has been a lot of hot air while under pressure

No doubt he is having talks but the whole 5/6 world class signings just doesn’t add up to me even if it did why announce it?

tbf he was asked a question during media day about recruitment for next season after RdP announced he was leaving, then people made multiple articles about it

I like him a lot but I'm not sure I'd have him down as a traditional 7 tbh, but maybe I'm just not paying attention to him enough - my thought was someone in the Dan Thomas mould

Jean Kleyn apparently has been approached by Bordeaux Begles. I could definitely see this being true. He’s been a very important player for us but for me we are producing good players there now with higher ceilings than Kleyn, who he will probably be blocking next season on. Edogbo, O’Connell and even Conor Ryan probably need to be thrown in now and we have the safety net of Beirne and Wycherley and even Ahern if we need him there.

If he goes it will be as one of our best signings and a club great.

Also heard Abrahams has had a French approach but not sure if he has any interest. His last French adventure didn’t go great.

We apparently are after a hooker and a tighthead. We have been linked with both in the past. I think we will be getting a TH in until season end. One name I saw is Reuben O’Neill.

Coupled with this is the rumour that Oli Jager may retire on the back of his head injuries which would be a big shame.

Makes sense. Their lock stocks look pretty weak with only Itoje, Isiekwe, McFarland, Tizard, Sodeke, and Wilson.

This concerns me for two reasons:
a) It suggests Carpenter's recovery time is gonna be a lot longer than the Christmas-ish that was first reported
b) It suggests we'll be moving one of our wingers to cover 15 (otherwise we'd sign a 15) and TOF was absolutely dire there vs Saracens
