Well he was recovering from a very serious injury. It's tough to come into a team late in the season, especially when the man you're competing against is going pretty well.

I know he was injured but a man of his class (and he was back long enough) should have been used more like he could've been the difference in the Amlin and I know that was to do with a non-european rule but if Toulon used brains they'd realize Contepomi should have been used as every team should have 2 quality 10's in 22.

Here's another quote from Edward Griffiths:
we look forward to welcoming Soane, Lucy and their children to Saracens in July. As the Tongan told the world in January: ‘Everyone can see there is real energy around Saracens at the moment, and I am looking forward to helping them achieve all their goals
;)

I heard on the radio just now that Jean de Villiers and CJ van der Linde will be playing for the Stormers next season, don't know yet if they will play for Western Province in the Currie Cup this season though...

Saracens announce ten players retiring or leaving the club:

Meanwhile, Saracens have confirmed a list of ten players who will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Centre Kevin Sorrell, who has made more than 300 first-team appearances, and Fiji skipper Moses Rauluni have joined Justin Marshall and Glen Jackson in deciding to bring their careers to an end, while Tom Mercey’s move to Northampton had already been revealed.

Italian front-row duo Matias Aguero and Fabio Ongaro are both joining newly formed Magners League outfit Aironi Rugby and prop Kas Lealamanua is also moving on.

Former Welsh international Michael Owen, who has endured an injury-hit two years at the club, and long-serving back Richard Haughton – Sarries’ player of the season to years ago but an increasingly peripheral figure this term – are the others to be leaving.

Also as noted in yesterday's Q&A with Edward Griffiths, Noah Cato is staying.

Newcastle signing a very talented and very injury prone flyhalf eh? Some people never learn :P

6. Van Niekerk
7. Smith
8. JMF Lobbe

:O

Xavier Rush will be staying with Cardiff (supposed to go to Ulster).
Wonder how much that cost.

If Michael Owen plans on trying for the WC squad, he had better get a Welsh contract soon.
You could still get a few years out of him and he is still in form, certainly something to look into.

Robin Sowden-Taylormight be off to the Dragons, I would imagine it depends of Bearman's fitness.

Aironi are very close in signing Julien Laharrague and are in advanced contact with Seilala Mapusua
