Jean De Villiers in press this morning stating he wants a return to Munster. I know his wife stayed on 6months after he went back and that he ad great time when living in Limerick so could be a possibility

I'm sure I read somewhere before (though I can't remember where, and I remember looking for it before and not being able to find it, so might have dreamt it) that he said in an interview he intended on returning to Munster after a year back in SA for the WC

Yes he was quoted saying that in press and well he is a down to earth guy and I think if we can get JDV in now he will be alot better as the blend and feeling in the province is alot better and Jean is a player who buys into the Munster way.

Heard / Read somewhere that JDV was involved with a quit ea bit of coaching there at senior and youth level. See its pro's like these that are worth importing in rather than the ones that offer nothing.

Yes Jean did good work with the 20's on his time off and was always superb passing advice and tips on to the younger guys but what was great about him is he always looked at young lads to see is there something he could learn.

Jean de Villiers was rubbish when he played for Munster, Hugh Farelly wrote this about him ...

And a miss ... Jean de Villiers (Munster) -- Welcomed to Munster with a flurry of fawning adulation but, in terms of inspiring his province to glory, De Villiers was to Elsom what One Direction are to the Arctic Monkeys.

Ah yes, Hugh Farrelly. That shining beacon of ineptitude in a sea of decent journalism. De Villiers was alright for Munster. Had a shaky start, but was looking menacing in the second half of the season. Wouldn't be a bad signing at all.

What he said.

He was played out of position for half of the first half of the season. what did everyone expect.

There was one day when Against the Head had Hugh Farrelly and Gerry Thornley both on.

Hugh farrelly was to Gerry Thornley what One Direction are to the Arctic Monkeys.

boom

People see the big name and expect miracles. He took time to gel with the team but once he did he scored some brilliant tries. I'd love to see JDV come back.

How can we say he was rubbish when after a poor start he was superb in the run-in and ended the season as our top try scorer. And I think it wrong to compare Elsom and De Villiers because I strongly believe if Elsom came again to Leinster again he'd never be able to repeat that form again. I'm not saying Elsom would be poor just his form that season was superb and consistently at the peak.

Great to see Sackey maybe off to SF. SF has poor, and I mean poor wingers.

Felipe Contepomi is set to announce his arrival at the club today.
