Red Dead Redemption was new, was exciting. Although it uses the same GTA IV-engine, the whole vibe that came with the game was unique. Because of that, I pick RDR. The other games are either more of the same (Fifa 11, CoD Black Ops) or not unique in it's kind (Halo: Reach) or a big disappointment because of the gameplay (Heavy Rain)

I went for Mass Effect 2 but RDR was absolutely amazing, as was Halo: Reach.

It did take a little bit to get going, I remember Best_Fullback posting saying he was unimpressed, then the next day came back saying how wrong he was

Yea at first I was like this is not as good as I though it would be but then about 2 hours in it started to grab me.

While it did initially have a very slow pace to it, once you

cross the bridge into Mexico and that music kicks in

you realise just how epic the game is. If only GTA4 had been anywhere near its quality...
