Plus Trump doesn't need Congress to vote for the files to be released for him to do it. If Republicans wanted the files released, they could have voted for this months ago but obstructed it. The gaslighting from Republicans from everything from Jan 6th to Epstein is incredible. If you lay it out, there is no consistency to what they claim to believe at all. They have literally made "Democrats are pedos and Trump is going to bring down the pedo rings" as a core part of their claims. Now it comes time to deliver and oops, nope we don't actually want that after all, it was all a Democrat hoax.I assume "why didn't Biden release the files then"
During the entire Biden administration there were appeals going on. The appeals did not conclude until October 6, 2025, 9 months after the Biden administration ended.
On October 6, 2025, the Supreme Court denied Maxwell's petition for certiorari.[1] With Maxwell's appeals exhausted, the legal barrier to unsealing documents is removed.
During ongoing appeals, courts could and did unseal Epstein-related documents if they deemed no prejudice to proceedings, as evidenced by batches released in 2020 and 2024 from the Giuffre-Maxwell civil case.
Legally, no other evidence could have been released until October 6, 2025, due to ongoing appeals.

As an aside, of course, Biden didn't run a presidential campaign on "Release the Files"
Then again this is a party that goes on about law and order whilst protecting one of the most criminal presidents in US history. A party of personal responsibility which claims every problem is everyone else's fault but their own, the party of low taxation which raises taxes on the poorest, the party of fiscal responsibility who have blown up the deficit every time they've been in office, the party who said they wanted to end omnibus spending bills who've passed a bill called "the big beautiful bill", the party of free speech which bans books and was engaged in the mythical "war on Christmas", the party of religious liberty which tried to block Muslims and Atheists from being elected, the party of Lincoln who chase after ex Confederate states and support the Confederate flag.
