Wallabies Thread

Ah that's a pisser, hope he recovers in time

Les Kiss named head coach of the Invitational AU & NZ select team
This could be a really good team suspect French clubs won't let their players play in it but Japan based ones alone would be a team like

Toutai Kefu First Nations & Pasifika XV head coach
Praying Ardie is allowed in the Pasifika team, would be cool to see Genia and Cooper in either team also

he might literally be the difference between a competitive series and not

He's good but he's not good enough to carry an entire team. If we are reliant on him to do magic we've already lost.

Squad for Fiji test.

Happy for Potter, he was really underrated while at tigers he's just an excellent all round winger.

I feel it's prob a bit too soon for Aus to challenge the lions, it's a very green squad not much experience but come the next World Cup I feel Aus are going to be back to being one of the top rated.

Just clocked no other players outside of Skelton are from Clubs outside Aus.

Suspect we will see some more included later. (Still feel Samu will get a call up espcially if UBB win the top 14, having a guy starting for the champions of Europe and Top 14 you would be crazy not to have him in the squad)

Guess Schmidt is saying to the young local lads here is your chance impress me and I'll pick you.

Samu is a bit of a luxury player who is harder to accomodate at test level IMO. A great bench option.

Not much between him and Gleeson/Hooper and Schmidt has always said if its a tight call it will always go to the local players (although both are leaving right as they hit career best form ).

Yeah but where is the experience coming in?

How many players in the squad have actually won a meaningful competition?

The Wallabies are nowhere near strong enough in terms of depth to compete with the Lions. I reckon 3-0 is more likely than not at this stage.
