2025 Lions - Who is on the Tour for you?

With the short prep time surely you'd want your centre combo to be an off the shelf international one, so let's use the Scottish or Irish one rather than creating a new one right now.
Sione needs game time

Ringrose has been class all year imo.

I think Ali has fallen off a bit over the course of the season. Certainly he tends to get subbed off in the 55-60 minute period.

George and AOF have left the squad.
Cheers - I guess someone needed clicks

Hands up if you're a better utility back than Tom Jordan.

Looking at watching every match in the UK ain't cheap.

Best value is £26.99 for a minimum 6 month contract with Now TV.

Time to get the old VPN out I think.

I was thinking the same thing, that £26.99 offered to me by NowTV was for a minimum six month contract, even stated offer not valid if you cancel before final month, otherwise it's £34.99

To share with my nephew's means another £9 on top for boost.

So, I'm testing a recommended site which gave me prem and URC without any issues this Friday. If all goes well then that site it is.

I see JVP has been called into the Lions squad as cover and was about to have a fit that he was selected ahead of Ben White but then I see Toulon have a game this weekend.

I know it's only to help with training but surely Ben Spencer would have made far more sense unless he was asked and declined. I'd even have had George Horne in before JVP.

I was discussing this elsewhere earlier. Spencer has never been able to replicate his Bath form in an international. There's probably equal blame to be shared between coaches for not giving him a decent run of caps and using him poorly, and himself for slowing up games whenever he's come off the bench.

Personally I think JvP is a better fit as JGP is almost certainly going to be first choice and their playstyles are more similar. Should gel in training a little better.

I still think it's harsh on Spencer who has a great understanding with Finn and just delivered on the big stage v JVP at the weekend while JVP has hardly torn it up for England from what I've seen. I know it's only training and so not a big deal. I'll be more annoyed if JVP is called up before White after he's done with Toulon.

True about the understanding with Russell, I hadn't really considered that. I still don't think he makes it anywhere near a test without someone else taking an arrow to the knee though

Do you want to have someone so familiar with your link (SH & FH) for an evaluation game, if they're not going to play for real in the tests.

Russell needs to gel with someone other than his club teammate.

The familiarity of that combo is only part of the argument - Russell and Spencer bring the best out of each other at Bath. JVP isn't going to play in the tests and won't be partnered with Finn in any games either. I also doubt Finn will be involved on Friday. I just think Spencer is more deserving but it's only an opinion and it's only for training and so hardly a biggie.
