I've put on 4 kg's in just under two months, my body fat has increased but it's negligible :D

I once put on 20 kg's in six months, I was a total lard arse though... I remember watching a test match and realised I weighed more than most of the players, yet couldn't run to save myself (unless someone dangled a carrot/doughnut in front of me), definite turning point in my life.

Christ, I spent 12 months eating nothing but Pizza and Burger King and couldn't compete with that despite the ensuing health problems (thankfully I'm now down to about 15st). How did you not have a heart attack?

I wasn't clinically fat, like all my friends said I just looked chubby. I was only in my late teens and was going through a growth spirt as well as being a porker, but I definitely went from just under 80 kg's to 95-97kg around. I think if I stayed in the high 90's I would have been looking at serious fatty problems, like having to put talcum powder under my boobs so they don't chafe :P

I'm at 90 now though, and I think that's my optimal weight.

This may be a good read for budding fitness fanatics, this bloke does 20 mile cross country runs for fun!

A friend of mine on the team runs marathons with his girlfriend. In one weekend he'll run over 50K. For whatever reason he enjoys running. I on the other hand only run when their is a purpose, food, women, rugby, beer.

Mind you, that is why he was chosen to take part in an elite training camp with the Toronto Argonauts football team.

Well, I said I would get back to you and I am. In a span of 6 weeks I managed to gain a total of 16.8 lbs. I was trying to eat as much as I could while the maintains some nutritional value. I went from 158.5-172.3 . I was intaking around 6500+ calories and around 700 grams of carbs. Most of this was fat, but I have managed to lean out to 11-12% body fat (was 9% at 158.5), while maintaing a constant weight of 167.4 lbs. I hope to hit the 180lbs (81kg) mark by May.

Ever heard of runner's high? :P I dunno if that's his reason, but i run 5 miles as fast as i can every morning, that exhaustion you get is about as good as anything.

But that's a whole lot of food Petden, how much do you work out??

Gavin, Petden, Caledfwtch. I know exactly how youse feel. It's bloody frustrating.

Whats even more annoying is I had really bad cases of being sick twice in two months, now I've got a bloody cold again 3 weeks later, I've had no luck lately. But before I got sick the first time I was 75kg, get sick lose 5kg and go to 70kg. I eat shitloads of food to get back the weight, get to 76kg, then I get pneumonia and lose 5 kg again. Back to 70kg.

Its that that gets me wondering why I bother trying, I'm a hard-gainer, I eat shitloads of good food and I still dont gain any weight, I see other blokes take one bite and they gain kilos.

I'm hoping to get to 80kg before February, doubt it will happen though.

Why do you guys stress so much, just eat normal things ( healthy and greassy) do some sport and powertraining and you'll get there.

I gained 8 kg in one year ( 1m96, 84kg now) . I have to admit I'm not the biggest block around but I do have some power.

Get some supplements, vitamin B complex(B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12) is most important. Sound like your immune system has gone to hell mate.

My worst happened at the beginning of the year. Because i'm a sound engineer, basically all i do at work all day is sit sit sit. Here where i work, we have full course meals every day via a catering company, with snacks here and there too. The clincher though, is the free coke. So anyway, long story short, i went from 86kg to a massive 104kg in only 3 months!!!!! Pants size went from a 36 to a 38, and i needed to act! So, about six months ago, i started a rigorous training program, and exercised at least 4 days a week, while also sticking to a strict diet.

Now, i weigh 78.6kg (measured las night at gym,) with my body fat percentage down from 26% to a mere 15.2%. A size 34 pair of pants is also pretty loose now! I will grab my before and after pics to show you guys. I'm thinking of getting one of these 'miraculous weight loss tablet' places to pay me a wallop of cash, and i will thank them for changing my life! lol.

But yeah, i am also in a hectic building phase now, and am bulking up nicely B). But yeah, dedication hey. I'm still a tiny bit off my target weight and body fat percentage, but that will happen in due time i think. Standing a bit still now.

meh, just that once you get sick so many times and lose that weight, its frustrating. Especially when I'm on bulking up mainly for rugby not to look good in public.. its not fun putting your body on the line and getting smashed so many times when your a skinny bloke.

Well I eat rice bran as it has lot of vitamin B but it's not very appealing to most people :P
You can get all the vitamins you need in a single pill once or twice a day, it coust about $10-15 in USA, not sure what's the cost in Australia. vitamin b, something like that would be good, but go to any pharmacy and ask for something with wider range of vitamins or just look yourself, doesn't take a genius to figure it out :)

Well I workout twice a week with the trainer, and I do a lighter workout two other days that I feel up to it. I am looking to purchase either an olympic bench and a small squat rack, or a power rack with the detachable bench.

Also now I am having trouble eating as much as needed to bulk up. My stomach problems have gotten worse and has since restricted my eating abilities. Which foods are high in calories, carbs, fats, proteins that dont sit on the stomach too much?
