You need gold to play online against others...

If you're refering to the macjine package itself, the premium package is a must. Without the hard disk, you're pretty f***ed no matter what game you play and they all have saved settings etc these days.

As for live, Silver is free and lets you download content while gold is £40 p/a and lets you play online against other players, which is far more satisfying then whupping the AI.

Your choice though.

kl cheers mate. think ill get the gold package. whats the point of xbox live if you cant play other people. thats like giving a child with no fingers a bubble wrap factory

well on silver you can download free content and stuff like game and movie trailers. you also get patches and updates for ur xbox.
