A Political Thread pt. 2

If you don't want to buy it from us, go to China, Russia, or someone else who can produce it. Because the last 11 years have shown Western European countries are incapable of developing their own military industrial needs.
You forget Britain and France are two of the biggest arms exporters in the world.

Germany has a large and growing arms industry. Airbus is now the leading aircraft manufacturer in the world, Sweden, Finland, Italy and Turkey all have large military industrial complexes. Europe can produce anything short of 5th generation fighters and the reason for that was because we were all included in the F-35 project.

We tended to buy American because it was NATO standard and it actually helped keep the American production lines flowing which kept the cost down for American defense companies. Guess you don't want us doing that anymore.

Europe don't have military industrial complex as if BAE and Thales don't exist...without mentioning Rolls-Royce

I wonder how these posters are going to feel after inflation and recession these Traiffs are going to cause by the estimation of most economists.

Adding fuel to this fire.

Trump falling hook, line and sinker for this one. There's such a consumer imbalance between European spirits in America and American in Europe and most distilleries / vinyards can't currently create enough product to satisfy both American and Asian demands.Gl63LjUXUAAbbFm.jpeg

Is that the same Rolls Royce that provides engines for the American military and civil air industries?

Sorry but that is ********, Israel haven't simply bought US equipment, large chunks of it has been funded by the US itself. Israel is THE largest cumulative recipient of US aid in the world. https://www.cfr.org/article/us-aid-israel-four-charts If you have such an issue with military funding for other nations, why not Israel? Usual crass hypocrisy and ignorance.

I notice a lot of spouting Fox news talking points in your post, you're doing exactly the same thing as an ex-friend of mine did, calling themselves a centrist but then everything they say after shows they are anything but. What you're actually showing is just the plain old chest beating nationalist.

It's very telling you avoided answering about Jan 6th and my comments on Trump's criminality. Very very telling.
1.) I'm 35. No one my age watches cable TV. I haven't watched Fox News since I was my grandparents' house 20 years ago.

2.) Of course I'm a nationalist. I care about the USA first and foremost. What you do in Europe doesn't impact me. If you want to continue to pay exorbitant energy prices and destroy your economy, that's fine by me.

3.) I didn't avoid the J/6 question. I said no matter how I answered it, it wouldn't convince anyone on the internet.

1.) Your statement is incorrect. The US makes up 43% of all arms exports, according to the SIPRI. You have minor players like Thales. They are minnows in an ocean.

2.) I don't care what you do. Buy from us. Build it yourselves. Buy it from Israel. Do what you want.

You are footing the bill because you provide Israel with security guarantees which require military capability and someone has to pay for that. Israel pays for what you ship over to them but they don't pay for the capability required in the event that you have to step in and defend them from the likes of Iran.
We provide security guarantees for several countries across the world, including many non-traditional allies in the Middle East. If you recall, we defended Kuwait in 90/91. Your argument doesn't hold water.

Yeah so did we
Yes you did. Just like the UK has been a great partner to the US. And we appreciate it. Or at least, I certainly appreciate it.

As long as the UK and Europe are spending 2-3% of their GDP, we are kosher. If you don't do that, don't be surprised when the American people vote to abandon your continent to your own devices.

Our collective generosity and patience are getting worn thin.

Well, in the great booze wars, territory will be traded. Unfortunately your little island is very much loved over here.
Do you think American consumers will be happy with increased costs of European spirits? Or that Europeans will care about American spirits being more expensive?

The EU don't want a trade war, no one should. No one expects things to be as they were but this is just a quick way to show American people that some of their nice things will go away if the current administration remains as aggressive as they've started.

You already have voted to abandon it after years of European nations including Ukraine deploying to Afghanistan and Iraq. But hey let's not test your patience you ungrateful ******

I think American and European consumers have many options. If we can’t get Scottish whiskey, we will survive.

Of course you don’t want a trade war . Ireland specifically has gotten rich because of American pharmaceutical companies.

The status-quo is over.

What’s funny is we want the same thing: You want to care less about America and I don’t want to care much about Europe.

Well that's a great way to shut a conversation down. Good luck with your war on drugs. I'm sure the end is near.
I thought we'd all established previously America has never one a war on it's own.

Even America's wealthiest person is on the Kit Kat. Sorry South Africas wealthiest. So looks like the war on drugs is a busted flush.
