Too be fair this is a bit of a hangover from the really silly residency laws that Ireland used to build a squad that would get them to a world cup semi final. In a few years it will have blown over and Lowe will probably be bold.

Im seeing a lot of people online saying George Ford should be in the Lions squad and that he has been brilliant all season. I had the impression that he had missed a large part of the season due to injury though the stats say he played 16 of the 18 games. Was it just England games he missed making me think he was out for longer?

I think Russell and Fin Smith are the top two tens and are there on merit. Ford is basically competing with Marcus for that third spot and I suspect that Marcus got the nod because of his ability to cover 15 and because he was hindered by Borthwick/Wigglesworth's style of play.

He was benched for the 6n in favour of Fin with Marcus at full back. Ford has been amazing this season every game I've watched him in (seems to have shaken off whatever injury was bothering him last year) and deserves to be with the Lions over Fin imo.

Much prefer him being with England myself because I'm not that into the Lions, but he should be there on merit.

The IRFU paid to import Billy Burns, possibly the weediest 10 England has ever produced, to teach their 10s how to generally play rugby, and then they have the audacity to judge English flyhalves
Your greatest ever 10 got injured if he thought about playing rugby and owns a kombucha company.

The fact is if Ross Byrne was born English your peasantry would build idles to him in their simple hamlets and worship him like a god.
