Ah, the good old, we're ****, but at least we're not the shittiest argument. One of most seen use by conservative governments.
Also, it's ridiculous that shittiest can get through the filter but title can't.

I 100% agree, but Kinghorn is a ball playing winger at club level, and started there last game.
I think we'll see Lowe, Keenan, and Kinghorn personally.

And he's the form 15 at international level. I'd be surprised if the original plan was to play Kinghorn on the wing against the Waratahs, but when Keenan was ill for the Reds game, Farrell changed things around so Keenan still got the minutes under his belt at full back.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a Lowe-Keenan-Kinghorn back three, but Freeman deserves the place ahead of Keenan.

I believe the Lions chose the date first,
Half of Kinghorn's starts, club and country, this year have been at fullback, last year he played almost exclusively at fullback.
He's a fullback by trade that can play wing, not the other way round.

My point isn't that he's a winger first, its that he's a ball playing winger.

In which case it's hard to put a claim forward that Keenan deserves a starting spot ahead of Freeman based on "form on tour". Considering Kinghorn's lack of game time so far in Australia because of Toulouse's run to the French domestic title, I think his international form should be taken into consideration, especially considering he was named at fullback in the 6 Nations "Team of the Championship"
Looking forward to tomorrow's game. Day off so openning up my local club again.
I think baring injury that's the test back 3. Back row and centres TBC, possibly the props but Genge has probably been in the best form and played well against the strongest oppo (Argentina). People are talking about form vs reputation which is squarely where Furlong is.
Some selections have always felt like a gamble, lack of proper 8's and 6's heaps of 7's. You'd assume Farrell had the idea of going with dual blindsides from the off. The press etc seem to suggest McCarthy isn't a line out option but don't watch enough of Leinster or Ireland to have an opinion. I still think the whole jumpers in the lineout is over stated a bit too much-hit your drills and there's plenty of evidence its not a big deal.
Feels like a bit of an oddity this tour as there's not a huge deal between perceived 1st, 2nd, 3rd choice in each position IMO. In the past you could have probably picked the mid week dirt trackers.
When you watch those videos the Lions socials post you appreciate the amount and distance of travel required particualry in Aus so little actual training time and players not really conditioned to play twice a week.

Big one in the morning, feels like this is ramping up now towards the big Test Match arena.
Suspect we have something close to the spine of the current intended "pencilled" in 1st Test XV but I still think there are some very close calls to be made and that tomorrow will provide AF a lot of food for thought.
The line up in the morning is a brute force lineup and my concern is whether it just needs a sprinkling of change to perfect the balance. That said, the bench does look a good one to come on after the bruisers when the gaps might appear.
Chessum at 6 certainly makes the battle for 7 an extremely tough one between Curry, VDF and Morgan. Morgan hasn’t put a foot wrong and Van Der Flier is pure class. Curry will need to be excellent tomorrow to win a starting berth at 7 (or indeed do enough to oust the contenders at 6/8 where we know he can play also).

England played a backrow of Ben Curry, Underhill and Willis last weekend with B Curry taking a fair share of lieout ball. Shorter jumpers at the front usually.
As always its about balance. Conan is a lineout jumper but the question is if you can have two 7's AND a lock pairing of Itoje and McCarthy......

I doubt its the main reason as weve preferred league (and AFL) for over 100 years.
Aussies are very fair weather though.
