It's not hate, Daly has broken his arm.
But these aren't short term game by game contracts, they are 1-3 years, so Daly is obviously in Borthwick's long term thinking when he recovers and this way England have a larger say in how much he plays.

‘Borthwick has hinted that he expects Farrell to concentrate on his performances for Saracens upon returning from Racing 92 for the 2025-26 Premiership season. In George Ford, Fin Smith and Marcus Smith, there are three fly-halves to hold enhanced EPS deals already.

There is no suggestion that these contracts have been improved to counter the presence of R360, even though the breakaway league is said to have agreed legally binding pre-contractual agreements with up to 10 players that have represented England in the past year.’

You're obssessed

"pre-contractual"

Not entirely sure why we need 3 out and out 10s (let’s be honest, M isn’t a 15). Or 4 what are predominantly open sides - I'd have had CCS ahead of one of those.

Few in there with injury issues - Martin, Furbank and Lawrence. All in a first choice 23 but who knows what they’ll be like on return but I guess half the point is that they can now be looked after the way Eng want them to be.

Bit humiliating for Dan but he can’t have any complaints.

Why the **** are Daly and Slade still stealing a living. If Roebucks done enough then why hasn't Atkinson, and no offence to Ollie Lawrence but if you're out for the best part of a year then....?

Some weird picks in here and you'd think there would be a bit of room to hold a couple of contracts in reserve to reward breakthrough/consistent players that weren't quite there when the rest were confirmed
As a Chiefs fan I agree on Slade, is league and international form just isn't really there, still rate him but he's down the England pecking order, Daly however had proved himself and shown how good a player he still is so I'm happy he got one. An in form utility player who played well for England and the Lions(before injury). When I saw he was in a thought it was positive.

Lawrence long term injured but when back he is a class player, risky call but not a bad one imo.

Roebuck has done way more than Atkinson, who is prob our best 12 but far from nailed down. Will get one next time I bet.

Pollock was always going to get one no matter what because of the hype, the lions and he's on good form.

One other thing I want to add, if we have no 12s or players miss out they can still be picked and will still be well paid when they play.

I honestly think Borthwick sees Marcus as a 10/15 hybrid. Can he push Quins to play him more at 15?

I can't. Fundamentally, I don't think Marcus has any genuine desire to be a 15 and playing there isn't going to allow him to compete for the 10 shirt he actually does want.

I hope he doubles down, has a great season at 10 and makes a compelling case to be picked ahead of his rivals.

Moreover, Marcus is Quins’ best 10 by a good distance. Benson has promise but is nowhere near Marcus' level right now and Evans is inconsistent and has never looked like challenging to start. Also, Green is a key player at 15 and with Murley and Isgró, there's nothing to be gained from shifting him to the wing.

Quins with Marcus at 10 and Green at 15 is significantly better than Benson or Evans at 10 and Marcus at 15. I don't really see the incentive unless it's player driven, but as I said at the outset - I don't think it's what he wants.
