Live look at Chicago.

These communities are fundamentally broken. It would be better to bulldoze every home and start over.

Source: Me, who has worked in these communities.

I'm waiting for someone to post a BBC article saying how Chicago is actually amazing and not at all dangerous.

I read an article a few years ago about the south side and the empty homes problem...

Seems like the TBI was a huge success lol

I live in Lincoln Park. She close to there?

If so, next time you're in town we can go to the local bar.

Place has good food and drink, plus attracts ex-pats from all over the city.

Small world. I stayed in Hotel Versey for a couple of weeks in 2023 and was a regular at Trader Joe's across the street. It's a nice area with Lincoln Park zoo nearby - those gorillas are impressive!

That Trader Joe's is where I shop as well.
There is a Scottish bar right by there called Duke of Perth that serves excellent food.

Did you happen to go there?

Sadly I did not but will be sure to drop by if I am ever back there.
My parents are planning an early September trip to Scotland for 2 weeks in 2026.

They both retired this year and are ready to spend my inheritance at an aggressive pace.

My father is already doing extensive research a year out and bought several books, but are there a few things that a must or something that is regularly overlooked?

Avoid 14 year old girls in Dundee!

I read that as an aggressive place at first.

That's easy get them to wear a Rangers or Celtic top in the wrong part of Glasgow.

You'll have the aggressive place bit covered.
