A Political Thread pt. 2

Do you believe this is a fair assessment of my position? Really?

Asking for more context, and for further details of an allegation.
Further information has come out, they are essentially just accusing the paper off "misinformation". No specifics and no indication of anything beyond that.

So im just starting to do a bit of digging into this story...

Did you know that Nottingham live has been beefing with reform since May? On June 3rd apparently Lee Anderson made a comment about receiving hundreds of complaints against NL, and Oliver Pridmore and Natalia Fahy both got into spats with him and others.

Apparently NL reported 30 negative stories on reform, in 29 days since they won the council.

Infact inbound a quote from the NL editor that 'Andersons ramblings are like reading the Bible, your not sure what to take seriously' or something along those lines.

Now I'll keep digging, but this at the very least establishes that NL and Reform have been at loggerheads since at least June, obviously that wouldnt be a reason to refuse interviews and invites to private events, but there is also a story from last year where they went to war with Nottingham police. Their journalists refused to sign non disclosure agreements heading into a briefing, before writing stories attacking the police for suppressing free speach, leading to a formal complaint by the police for their conduct, which ultimately went nowhere, and vagueness of terms were get out of jail free. Infact i think one accusation was that they were reporting live a stabber was on the loose, but claimed it was opinion.

Anyway im looking further in to this story, but details arent very forthcoming, NL are clutching the pearls, and Reform are offering vague media statements.

Im still undecided, reform have covered their back, and arguably still adhere to the Nolan principles by not banning public events or local interest stories, and Fahy tweeting and trying to provoke Barton publicly lends itself to her and NLs behaviours being unnecessarily antagonistic and starting conflict with reform since May, maybe an ongoing war, who knows at this stage.

Barton is a bit of a dick in general but I can't just read anti reports on him to reaffirm my dislike, he deserves a fair shake, until he doesnt.

Interesting, sources?

People dodging the media isn't anything new or using techniques to not answer a question.

Burnham having a spat with the Sun. Saying he wouldn't do interviews with them even if he became Labour leader. Personally I agree with him

The Herald accused Labour of deliberately ignoring Scottish print media. Bojo's team banned some journalists from an event. Badenoch refused to be interviewed by the beeb.

Tbf none banned an entire outlet but they certainly pick and choose who they engage with.

So from the little ive read so far...

Pridmore and Anderson have history, Pridmore went after him as a Tory, then again in April when reform didnt attend NL debates:

Infact quote from Pridmore: Politicians of all parties of course go through periods where they decide not to engage with the media anymore and in many ways, that is absolutely their prerogative.

Thats a stark difference to yesterday's quote of: massive attack to our democracy.

Police complaint scenario

Pridmore gloats about Anderson responding to NL while on holiday lol

It seems both Pridmore and Fahy have a reputation for picking fights, and an ongoing feud with Reform since at least April. 30 odd critical stories in less than a month shows a pattern, with acknowledgements from Pridmore and Fahy above that they have written about Reform and Anderson more than anything else, they also interviewed the outgoing Tory counciler and pretty much slated Reform lol.

I would lean toward a bot of 50/50 here, NL are clearly targeting Reform pretty hard, as youd expect from journalists, but with the added goading on social media, the gloating of Anderson, and now this current hysteria around being disengaged it feels tactical.

I'd actually compliment Barton this far, hes seemed poised and has answered nothing of note and hid his clear disdain for them ok. Ultimately though its local bickering IMO, theres no stepping stone to fascism because NL ultimately has access, just not front row access, and I dont think the Nolan principles have been breached.

Wouldn't surprise me if this is a successful tactic though, and Barton comes out smelling of ****

Strange through all this "research" you haven't brought up Anderson's wiki page which documents a total **** of a politician

Here's been cited for sexism, anti-Semitism, racism etc and yet all that's been missed. In short he's a fartage/strumpet wannabe.

Im not sure in see what your point is, how does this relate to the story?

I'm more convinced than ever that a Reform Govt would result in a complete collapse across the country based on the lack of calibre, competence and credibility of the shower they have scrambled together.

Even their mayor sounds thick as ****. When thick people vote for clowns you're going to get a circus.
