He'd already ruled out deporting children in a statement/speech about six months ago, but no **** pulled him up on it.

I'm not sure if it was on this forum but someone said the Beeb and others are almost ushering him into Number 10 and I tend to agree. He doesn't get any pushback and every word he says is amplified to eleven despite having 4 - FOUR - MPs in his limited company masquerading as a political party.

I get the feeling they are aligning themselves with a shift in power. They have never been the aggressive counter platform, and they shouldn't be, but they seem to be reading the room...
 
Its difficult, both journalists and politicians are scumbags, but they have access to all public events, and events that include public interest where health and safety are concerned...

This is an argument between a counciler and a journalist, and im only seeing the journalists side of it, which is always dangerous.

If you are in public office you should be open to questions from the press whether you like the reporter or not is my opinion. The Nottingham Post is thee media outlet in Nottingham for elected officials on the council to refuse to speak to them isn't excusable in my opinion

Its not a blanket media ban, its a specific organisation, and thus far we dont know any details other than everyone at the organisation is shocked and stunned, and they think thisnis a slippery slope, and dangerous to democracy and blah blah blah...

Like I said, they reported that is not a total ban, they are of course involved with public addresses, and health and safety issues/alerts, but won't receive publication statements and invites to private events.

Before I lambast someone, because mostly I dont want this to be true with all my heart like most people here, I want to know the facts of what happened.

Maybe there is grounds based on security concerns, or breach of code of conduct? I just dont know yet, and there is nothing wrong with sayong I dont know yet.

Why is it, you are all happy to acknowledge every written grievance from any source you agree with, with absolutely no evidence or detail on the situation?

I find it highly troubling!

I mean, are there not any scenarios you could imagine which would lead a council to exclude a publication from private events based on security or code of conduct concerns?

Wasn't there a similar thing in Bournmouth a few years ago, the local rag being reported to police and banned from events for leaking information. Im not sure how well that aligns to this tbh, but I remember there being an outcry and freedom of speech issue then too

If there was a legitimate reason, why did the council spokesperson not say so? What isn't said is as important as what is. If there was a legitimate reason, don't you think they would have announced it at the same time as banning them? What would be the reason not to?

As for slippery slope concerns, look at the USA which is even further down this slippery slope. They straight up attack and ban publications from access if they challenge the administration. They have pulled public funding from media bodies they don't like and have made threats to straight up shut down the likes of CNN. Do you advocate we wait until things actually get to the point of no return before anyone speaks out, or are you in favour of speaking out before it happens?
 
I think we've all watched MP's and rugby players do interviews without answering questions and not saying much at all

Just start with "What I think the real issue is, or what people want to hear"

Any half decent media training and it's not difficult.

No seriously, this is Democrat gameplan 101, cause a scene, cry outrage and Hitler when you find out, we are starting to see it in british politics, and it disgusts me!

If there is no explanation or comment going forward then we can assume something nefarious, but no detail accusations dont get me triggered, I need full context

In the USA there have been a record number of resignations from government departments because of what they are doing. Why would that be happening if it was all just false lefty crying? Going to claim the government is just full of crying lefties or realise that the people closest to what is happening are saying they want no part of it because it genuinely is bad?

Remember how it was all just fake news that Trump would try to fire the Fed chair? Well how he's gone for someone one step below. Still fake it so you classify that as somehow entirely unrelated?

I've asked you how long you will wait before you will say they are hiding something. How long will you give the Reform council to provide adequate justification for this? If none is provided in that time frame, what will your conclusion be?
