A Political Thread pt. 2

Not you specifically, goes to everyone really,
When's the last time any actual discussion happened in this thread, it's just boring AF
99% of the posters agree on most fundamental issues, where born and raised under reasonably similar societal rules, speak the same couple of languages, live in the same continent...
And whenever someone says something slightly off script, regardless of whether he is making a valid point or not, he ends up having to argue 1v20, 19 of which are just calling him hitler, nazi, etc.

Doesn't say what those security concerns were.
I'm guessing something along the lines of personal relationships with Epstein open him up to a risk of blackmail and extortion. But that's me guessing.

The fact McSweeney previously worked in Madelson's office and was big on him. To quote others "it stinks"

Always the ones you most expect

Yup and unlike Raynor who carelessly took a risk that backfired and only sought further expert advice after it was too late, I suspect Farage, like Hunt, will have taken proper legal advice prior to the transaction to cover his arse.

When I bought my place I had to provide source of funds evidence for the deposit including tax returns showing earnings etc. The conveyancing solicitor is duty bound to review this evidence and so I'd be interested to know what evidence Mrs Farage provided to show how she was able to fund the cash purchase of a £885k property and whether it not that evidence stacks up with the wealthy French family story.

Interestingly a bank recently announced no mortgages to youngsters where deposits etc were courtesy of the bank of mum and dad.

Pay wall link I'm afraid, sorry

Don't see the issue lots of financial products tailored to individual circumstances. The focus of this is for people who've had to save for themselves based on a 2% deposit

Known as First Step the mortgage offers borrowing of between £96,000 and £350,000. The 2 per cent deposit must be at least £5,000.

Cheers

Tbh it sounds like a marketing thing - with borrowing locked to 4.5x your salary where are they finding properties 4.5x salary + a 2% deposit 🤷
Average first time buyer deposit is something like 39k excluding London (53k including London) - that's not just for a giggle, it's the reality of how much starter homes cost these days

Thank you - I won't bother trying to get behind the paywall now - just a deliberately misleading, clickbait headline then.
Rather than "mortgage lender bans xyz" it's more "mortgage lender puts in place special option for people who can't xyz". Presumably, the same mortgage lender is also still offering mortgages to people who DO have a mum&dad deposit.
